Today we’d like to introduce you to Jasamine Carter.
Hi Jasamine, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor (LPC-S) with over a decade of experience in the field of mental health. I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and a Master’s Degree in Rehabilitation Counseling, and I began my career serving individuals and families in a community mental health setting.
With a deep commitment to holistic, client-centered care, I have supported diverse populations through challenges related to trauma, anxiety, depression, life transitions, and more. My extensive background in community-based services has shaped my empathetic, strengths-based approach to counseling.
I am now the proud owner and clinical director of Next Level Counseling & Consulting, where I provide therapeutic services, professional supervision for LPC Associates, and mental health consulting. She is passionate about empowering individuals to overcome barriers and reach their full potential—mentally, emotionally, and professionally.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Transitioning into private practice has been smooth and fulfilling.
We’ve been impressed with Next Level Counseling & Consulting , but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Next Level Counseling & Consulting was born out of a deep desire to create a safe, healing space for people especially those who spend their lives caring for others. I’ve always had a passion for supporting the supporters. Nurses, therapists, educators, first responders those on the front lines often carry unseen emotional weight. I wanted to provide a space where they could breathe, process, and heal.
I work primarily with adults, offering individual counseling grounded in evidence-based practices. I’m trained in EMDR, CBT, DBT, and crisis intervention. I help clients work through grief, depression, anxiety, and the stress that comes with major life transitions. I also provide clinical supervision for LPCA’s, which I love it’s a way of pouring into the next generation of mental health professionals. Beyond the therapy room, I offer speaking engagements and crisis management debriefings for organizations and teams in need of structured support after high-stress events.
I think what sets Next Level apart is the intentional focus on being a healing place. It’s not just about treating symptoms it’s about creating space for real growth, self-awareness, and restoration. Because I work with so many people in caregiving professions, I bring a trauma-informed, compassion-centered approach that honors the complexity of what they carry.
I want individuals to feel safe. seen. and valued. Whether someone is coming in at their lowest point or simply feeling overwhelmed by life, I want them to know they’re not alone. Healing is possible and they don’t have to do it all themselves.
What I would like readers to take away is taking care of yourself is not a luxury it’s a necessity. You can’t pour from an empty cup. Whether you’re a caregiver, a professional, or just someone doing their best to make it through the day, you deserve support. Healing is not just for when things fall apart—it’s for building something stronger.
Do you any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
My favorite childhood memory is all the love and support my mother and father gave throughout the years. My mother taught me the importance of family. My father taught me patience and stillness.
