Hidden Gems: Meet Dennis Aliaksandrou of Charleston Photo Art

Today we’d like to introduce you to Dennis Aliaksandrou.

Hi Dennis, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I started Charleston Photo Art in 2016, and since 2018 it has been my full-time job. My wife, Iryna, joined me in 2019 as our studio manager. Today, our business provides photography and videography services for weddings, proposals, and elopements.

Most of our projects are in the Lowcountry area, but sometimes clients who got engaged in Charleston invite me to photograph their weddings elsewhere in the U.S. For example, this year we’ve had weddings in Georgia, Virginia, and we’ll have upcoming weddings in Denver and North Carolina later this year.

On average, we shoot around 30–40 weddings annually and about 300 photo sessions in total each year.

With this workflow, I serve as the lead photographer and videographer. We also have several associate photographers, second shooters, and assistants. My wife manages all office work, and we work with professional editors and retouchers.

It’s been a journey filled with so much learning, creating, and I couldn’t be more grateful for all our amazing clients and colleagues.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The hardest — but also most rewarding and exciting — part has been learning marketing, advertising, SEO, and everything else needed to find your niche in the market.

Charleston is a highly competitive photography market, which constantly pushes us to learn and improve our business every day. But the reward is absolutely worth it!

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Charleston Photo Art?
Charleston Photo Art is a company I established in 2016 — a local, family-owned business. We provide photography and videography for weddings, elopements, proposals, portraits, and events.

I’m very proud of our client reviews across all platforms, including Google, The Knot, and more.

When it comes to photography in Charleston, it’s truly amazing how many creative and talented people work in this industry, and we’re proud to be a part of it.

For all of our clients, we provide a personalized, seamless, and exceptional experience.

We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
My favorite childhood memory is the time I spent with my grandmother.
