Today we’d like to introduce you to Courtney Albertson
Hi Courtney, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Entrepreneurship? Yeah, that wasn’t on my BINGO card—until I became a mama. I was working in a Child Development Program, which was all fine and dandy…until it wasn’t. One day it hit me—why was I dropping off my own baby at daycare just to go care for other kids? It made zero sense. So, during one of our many military moves, I made the bold decision: I wasn’t going back to work. I wanted to be home, fully present, and available for my little one (now little ones).
I started diving into the work-from-home world and stumbled across Virtual Assisting. I dove in headfirst. I took The Free Mama course with Lauren Golden, built my own business, and put myself out there in the entrepreneurial world. Pretty quickly, I realized some parts of being a general VA weren’t my jam. But the parts I loved? Total game changers. Turns out, I’m an admin, systems, and operations nerd at heart!
That’s when I made the switch to becoming an Online Business Manager, and I haven’t looked back in 3+ years. Now, not only am I running my business and supporting amazing clients, but I’m also homeschooling my kiddos and getting to be the mom I’ve always dreamed of. It’s a win-win in my book!
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
HA—absolutely NOT! Entrepreneurship? It’s no walk in the park.
Let’s get real for a sec—being an entrepreneur can be straight-up lonely. Your friends and family with their 9-5, “normal” jobs? They often don’t get it, especially when you’re out here grinding in the online space. Sure, there are tons of us out there, but we’re all spread across the globe. You can totally connect with someone, become super close online, but still haven’t even met in person because, well, life and location. It’s just not the same as having that office coworker you grab lunch with.
And let’s talk about the hard knocks. Entrepreneurship is FULL of hard lessons. For me, 2022 was the year those lessons hit me like a ton of bricks. I’d made my business my whole life—literally. The very reason I started working from home was to have balance, to align with my values, and to be present for my family. But instead, I was living in total hustle mode (and let me tell you, hustle culture is a straight-up LIE!). By the end of 2022 and into early 2023, I had those gut-check moments where I realized I was way off course. I had to have some tough conversations with clients, part ways with a few, and completely reset my boundaries. It wasn’t easy, but it was necessary.
The thing is, people only see the highlight reels—the wins, the success stories. What they don’t see are the hard wake-up calls, the moments where you’re buried in the grind and have to claw your way back to balance. Entrepreneurship? Yeah, it’s a rollercoaster ride, for sure!
We’ve been impressed with Systemized Mama, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
At Systemized Mama, I’m all about helping busy moms streamline their lives and businesses with simple, no-fluff systems. I’ve been where many of these moms are—juggling kids, homeschooling, running a business, and trying to keep the house from looking like a tornado hit. It’s chaos, but it doesn’t have to be. I’ve created a space where I teach other moms how to get organized and actually enjoy the process. Whether it’s setting up systems for the home or business, I’m here to make things feel doable, even with a busy schedule.
I specialize in taking those overwhelming to-do lists and transforming them into clear, actionable plans—whether that’s for running your household or running your business. I’m known for being that systems and organization guru who can turn a hot mess into an efficient, organized operation. Whether you’re dealing with piles of laundry or piles of business tasks, I help you create simple routines that actually stick.
What sets Systemized Mama apart is the realness. I don’t sugarcoat anything or pretend like I’ve got it all together 100% of the time. I’m a mama in the trenches, just like my audience. I know how hard it is to manage the chaos of both motherhood and entrepreneurship, and I’m here to offer real solutions that work for real moms. My brand isn’t just about organization; it’s about giving moms the tools they need to create more joy and less stress in their lives and businesses.
Honestly, I’m most proud of the fact that Systemized Mama has become a supportive community for other moms who are on the same journey. I’ve created a space where it’s okay to admit things aren’t perfect and where we celebrate the small wins. Seeing moms not just survive but thrive in both their motherhood and entrepreneurial journeys is hands down what I’m most proud of.
If you’re a mom who feels like you’re drowning in to-do lists and never-ending tasks, Systemized Mama is for you. I offer simple, actionable systems that help you get organized without the overwhelm. Whether it’s through a 1:1 container, workshops, or my flexible Systems on Demand service, I’m here to give you the support you need to create a life and business that feels joyful and manageable. You don’t have to do it all alone—there’s a system for that!
Do you any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
I have two — and they’re not actually memories I remember myself, but they’re memories that my dad told over and over and over again.
Memory #1: Getting ready to go dancing with Mom & Dad and using an entire can of hairspray on my hair.
To hear my dad tell it, I was in there spraying that can for several minutes. From the living room, he called me out on it, “Courtney Ann, I think you’ve used enough”, for which, I replied with all the sass I could muster, “I’m doing it how Momma told me to do it” (hand on hip & all). So, he let me go on. Mom came home & well, apparently, I used an entire can of a very expensive hairspray, and Dad said my hair would have withstood against hurricane-force winds.
Memory #2: While playing in the backyard, I kicked a ball on top of the roof. Dad put me on the roof to get the ball. I threw it down, and then (again) with all the sass I could muster asked, “now, how am I supposed to get down?”. Dad responded with, “you’re going to jump & I’m going to catch you”. Well, I just jumped. I had all the trust in the world in my dad. I didn’t need him to count to three or tell me when to go. I just jumped. He caught me, and that was that.
We lost Dad in September 2023 from a 2-year battle with Esophageal Cancer. These stories will FOREVER be part of our family. My kids even know these stories by heart, and we still laugh about how he used to tell them over and over and over again. He is so missed.
