Today we’d like to introduce you to Coraetta A Robinson.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I didn’t arrive at Studio 1000 by accident—it’s the result of two very different worlds coming together.
I spent over 20 years, serving on active duty, in the U.S. Army, where I led operations, built systems, and learned how to bring structure to complex environments. At the same time, I maintained my career as a licensed cosmetologist, always drawn to helping women feel confident in how they show up in the world.
Over time, I began to notice a gap, especially among women navigating life transitions like postpartum, stress, or even hormonal changes. I learned, much like myself, that they weren’t just dealing with hair concerns, they were also experiencing a loss of confidence, and could rarely find answers to their hair concerns.
That’s what led me to study trichology and take a more clinical, diagnostic approach to scalp and hair health.
Studio 1000 was created as a space where those two parts of me could fully align—structure and care [military and cosmetologist]. It’s not just about styling hair; it’s about understanding the scalp, restoring balance, and helping women feel like themselves again.
Today, I serve women who are ready for more than a quick fix. They’re looking for clarity, restoration, and a place where their concerns are actually heard—and that’s what I’ve built here.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
By no means, has it been a smooth road… and I think that’s what gives my work depth.
Like many women I serve today, I’ve navigated seasons of transition including, transitioning from a life long career in the military, new motherhood, personal loss, all while shifting into building something of my own. There were moments when I was trying to hold everything together while also figuring out who I was becoming in the process.
Professionally, one of the biggest challenges was stepping away from the structure and stability of the military into entrepreneurship. In the Army, I knew how to lead, execute, and deliver results. But building a business, especially one centered around wellness and trust, requires a different kind of patience and faith.
There were also moments of doubt… wondering if people would truly understand the value of a diagnostic, restorative approach to scalp care, especially in a market that’s so use to quick fixes.
But those challenges refined and continue to refine my vision.
These challenges are the reason Studio 1000 is what it is today—a space that prioritizes clarity, care, and restoration. I didn’t just build this from theory—I built it from lived experience, and that allows me to meet my clients in a much more intentional way.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Studio 1000?
Studio 1000 is a scalp and strand wellness studio, but I always tell people—it’s really about getting to the root of what’s going on.
I specialize in working with women who are experiencing hair changes due to stress, postpartum, or hormonal shifts. Instead of jumping straight into styling, I take a diagnostic approach to understand the scalp first, then build a plan from there.
I’m most known for my Therapeutic Scalp Reset. It’s a restorative experience that helps relieve buildup, irritation, and shedding, but it also gives clients clarity—which is something a lot of them have been missing.
What sets Studio 1000 apart is the balance and education. There’s a clinical side to what I do through trichology, but the experience itself is calm, elevated, and intentional. It’s not rushed, and it’s not surface-level, nor a quick fix.
Brand-wise, I’m most proud that I’ve created a space where women feel seen—especially during seasons where they may not feel like themselves.
If there’s one thing I’d want readers to know, it’s that if you’ve been struggling with your hair and not getting real answers, there is another approach—and that’s what I offer here.
If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
If I had to name only one, I’d say patience—and my ability to connect with people.
A lot of the women I work with have been dealing with hair concerns for a while, and by the time they come to me, they’re not just looking for a service—they’re looking for answers. I really value the fact that they’ve taken the time to seek help, so I don’t rush that process.
I take the time to listen, understand what they’re experiencing, and walk them through what’s actually going on. That connection and trust is what allows me to give them the best solutions, not just a quick fix.
I think people can feel when you genuinely care, and that’s something I try to bring into every experience.
