Hidden Gems: Meet Chris Paul Maldonado of All In One – Custom Renovations and Interior Design

Today we’d like to introduce you to Chris Paul Maldonado.

Thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, how did you get started?
I was born and raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, born to Elisabet and Hector Maldonado, my sister; Victoria. I was an overconfident, high-energy, ‘all-knowing’ young kid as a child. As a teen, I felt very creative in my way and had fantasies of being an inventor. In my teens, my family moved to Florence, South Carolina. I finished high school in Florence, South Carolina, and decided to attend the University of South Carolina Beaufort—Major in Business Management. From childhood up to college, I had a crippling speech impediment. Oddly enough, my stuttering never affected my self-confidence; however, it affected my ability to express myself and my wants/needs fully. I used little filters and disfluencies to mask my difficulty speaking openly and clearly to others. During college, I diligently worked on my speech impediment, and one day, things just ‘clicked.’ I now speak very effortlessly and with much clarity and boldness.

After college, I worked for a construction company and got exposed to very detailed and high-end craftsmanship. This spared my interest and passion for construction goals and dreams today. I was a sponge during this period of my life, asking all the different trades all the ins and outs of their dedicated professions—electrical, plumbing, framing, tiling, painting, carpentry, and drywall. At the age of 24, I hit a major turning point in my life; during a week, I was let go from this construction company, lost my first house purchase during escrow, and lost my apartment due to my lease ending (The plan was to buy a house and move into it), broke up with my girlfriend at the time. It happened to be my birthday week. I was virtually homeless after that.

For 3 months, I lived on my best friend’s couch, confused and without direction. I was a hard time. However, looking back, it was the best thing that ever happened to me. During those 3 months, I utilized my Business Management background and construction experience to start a grocery delivery business and started painting on the side for extra money. Over time, I discontinued Grocery Delivery and took painting more seriously. Painting specifically gave me a sense of freedom that I had never felt before; freedom of time, freedom of choice, and financial freedom. I then started my own painting company, and during the growth of this business, I utilized my past connections to shadow other trades and get more hands-on experience. The painting went to handyman services, small remodels, and larger-scale renovations and designs today.

I have fallen in love with creating a brand-new space that allows balance and harmony in a client’s living space. My life’s main themes are humility, Balance, and Creativity. Through these life lessons, I have built a team of dedicated individuals with the same passion for home renovations and interior design. Over time I have learned that this process is more than creating a beautiful living space for my clients; it’s about creating a sense of tranquility and peace in every aspect of my life, which then, in turn, affects everyone around me, a way of life that brings me joy, fulfillment, and a deep sense of peace. This philosophy emphasizes the importance of balance, harmony, and mindfulness in how I interact with people and the world around me.

Alright, let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what challenges have you had to overcome?

We’ve been impressed with All In One – Custom Renovations and Interior Design, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
All In One United, LLC is a construction company specializing in Kitchen & Bathroom Remodels and full-scale condo and home renovations. We are a design-build company offering design, finish material selection, and project management services. We understand the intricacies of the real estate market and give clients practical advice and guidance on how their renovation will increase their property value based on common do’s and do not’s. While also fulfilling their wants and desires for their specific project. We wrap the renovation process into an All-In-One service and experience.

If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
Service, transparency, and honesty. My number one priority is to be of genuine service to every one of my clients. Truly being a beneficial presence to each person I interact with. The construction industry has been nasty reputation due to misinformation and misdirection. I am completely transparent and honest with myself first of all. Which in turn allows me to be transparent and honest with my clients. I consult on projects based on prior experiences and what I would do in a similar situation. This honesty allows me to build trust and report with clients on a deeper level, enabling us to have difficult yet productive conversations.
