Today we’d like to introduce you to Brooke Davis
Hi Brooke, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
B. Well Counseling & Consulting was born out of a passion for making quality mental health care accessible, particularly in rural areas where trained, evidence-based clinicians are scarce. After facing challenges in a previous role, I was determined to create a practice that prioritized holistic well-being, ethical care, and innovative approaches to therapy. Recognizing the critical need for support across all ages, including postpartum care and trauma recovery, B. Well was established as a space where individuals and families could find healing. The practice also emphasizes fostering the next generation of clinicians through LISW supervision, ensuring a lasting impact on the community’s mental health resources. With 8 years of experience in mental health, I specialize in working with children, adolescents, and adults, integrating play therapy concepts, EMDR for children, and postpartum support. B. Well was founded with the vision of creating a space where I could serve my community while remaining a present and engaged mother. Balancing a passion for mental health care with the desire to be there for my young daughter, I built a practice that prioritizes flexibility, ethical care, and holistic support. This balance allows me to not only meet the needs of those in my care but also model the importance of mental, emotional, and familial well-being. B. Well is a reflection of my belief that personal and professional fulfillment can coexist, benefiting both my family and my community.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It hasn’t been a smooth road, and the early days were especially challenging. Transitioning from a previous role was tumultuous, marked by a rushed departure and ethical concerns that tested my resilience. Starting B. Well Counseling & Consulting in a rural area came with the added difficulty of building awareness and addressing the scarcity of evidence-based mental health resources.
Balancing the demands of entrepreneurship with being a present mother to my young daughter often felt overwhelming, as I worked tirelessly to establish a practice that aligned with my values while also meeting my family’s needs. Looking back, those early days can be painful at times, as they were filled with uncertainty, financial strain, and long hours of laying the groundwork.
Despite the difficulties, each struggle reinforced my commitment to creating a space that provides quality care for the community and supports other clinicians. The challenges shaped my journey and made the success of B. Well all the more meaningful.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
B. Well Counseling & Consulting is a holistic mental health practice that specializes in serving individuals and families through a variety of therapeutic approaches, including play therapy, EMDR for children, and postpartum support. We have a special focus on treating neurodivergent clients, offering tailored interventions for those with autism spectrum disorder, ADHD, and other neurodevelopmental differences. Our services are rooted in evidence-based, compassionate care, and we pride ourselves on our ethical practices that prioritize the well-being of every client.
What sets us apart is our commitment to filling a critical gap in mental health resources, particularly in rural areas where access to well-trained clinicians is limited. We provide therapy to children, adolescents, and adults, addressing a range of concerns, from trauma and anxiety to emotional and behavioral challenges. Additionally, our focus on postpartum support allows new parents to receive the care they need during a sensitive time of life.
One of the things I’m most proud of is the opportunity to offer LISW supervision services. This allows me to help budding clinicians take the final steps to secure their independent licenses, which strengthens the mental health field as a whole.
B. Well is not just about providing therapy; it’s about creating a space where clients feel heard, valued, and supported in their journey toward healing. It’s a place where I can serve my community while being a present mother, demonstrating that it’s possible to create balance and fulfillment in both personal and professional life. My brand is grounded in the belief that mental health is integral to overall well-being, and I’m proud to offer a trusted, compassionate resource for those in need.
Do you any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
My favorite childhood memory includes summer vacations with my family and the close relationship I had with my mom. I cherish the time spent together, whether we were exploring new places or simply enjoying each other’s company. Along with that, getting involved with horses and learning to ride was a special experience. It gave me a sense of calm and joy, teaching me valuable lessons about patience, responsibility, and trust. Today, I continue to prioritize my mental health by riding and living on our farm in Aiken, where those peaceful, grounding moments with horses remain a significant part of my life.
