Hi Brittnie, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My name is Brittnie Jones, and I’m the Owner and CEO of Troop Services. Before becoming a business owner, I started my career in healthcare and proudly served in the United States Army. I was deployed to Iraq from 2009 to 2010, and that experience taught me resilience, leadership, and the value of hard work—qualities that I carry with me every day.
After coming home, I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration from Colorado Christian University. After working in the healthcare field for 15 years my husband Scott and I knew we wanted more for ourselves, for our family, and for our future. That’s when we decided to take a leap of faith and start our own company. Troop Services was born out of a shared dream and a desire to improve our lives while helping others along the way.
One of the most important things to me when starting this business was maintaining a healthy work-life balance. We built Troop Services with intention—and it’s grown into something we’re incredibly proud of. We’ve been blessed with the best customers, and I truly believe we owe our success to them.
What sets our company apart is simple: customer service and satisfaction always come first. We treat every job like it matters. Our team shows up with professionalism, pride, and a commitment to doing things the right way.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Starting Troop Services definitely came with its share of challenges. One of the biggest obstacles was stepping into an entirely new industry. My background was in healthcare and the military, so entering the HVAC world meant I had a lot to learn—fast. There were moments of self-doubt, financial risk, and the pressure of trying to balance a growing business with family life.
Another challenge was proving ourselves in a competitive field. As a veteran- and family-owned business, we had to work twice as hard to build trust, earn referrals, and stand out from larger companies. But we leaned into our values—honesty, quality, and putting the customer first—and over time, that set us apart.
There were long days, tight budgets, and times when we had to take on every role ourselves. But every challenge taught us something valuable, and every setback built our resilience. Looking back, I’m proud of how far we’ve come—and even more excited about where we’re going.
We’ve been impressed with Troop Services, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Troop Services is a veteran-owned and family-operated HVAC company based in South Carolina. We specialize in residential and commercial heating, ventilation, and air conditioning services—including installation, repair, and preventative maintenance. My husband Scott and I started the company with a mission to deliver reliable, high-quality service while maintaining strong values and a healthy work-life balance.
Do you have any advice for those looking to network or find a mentor?
Absolutely. While I’ve learned from many people along the way, my greatest mentor has been my husband, Scott. His experience in the HVAC field, combined with his patience and dedication to his craft, has taught me so much about the technical side of the business—and about leadership. We push each other to grow, support each other through challenges, and celebrate every win as a team. I’ve also been inspired by fellow veterans and small business owners who’ve shown me that it’s possible to lead with both strength and compassion. Having people around you who believe in your vision makes all the difference.
