Today we’d like to introduce you to Wyatt Gaus
Hi Wyatt, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I grew up working at a farmers market with my parents, which sparked my passion for local produce. At the time, I didn’t realize how much it would shape my future, but looking back, it’s clear that those early experiences laid the foundation for everything I do now.
After years of culinary training and working in fine dining restaurants and catering, I knew I wanted something more personal—something that truly connected people to their food and their community. That’s why I became a private chef, focusing on bringing the best local ingredients from farmers, fishermen, and butchers straight to the table. Through my cooking, I strive to highlight the incredible producers in my area and create meaningful dining experiences that bring people together.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
As I’m still in the building stages of my business, I know challenges will come, but so far, the journey has been rewarding. One of the biggest hurdles has been balancing everything as a solo chef—managing cooking, planning, marketing, and logistics all on my own. But despite the challenges, the connections I’ve built with local farmers, fishermen, and producers have made every bit of effort worthwhile. The sense of community and support has been incredible, and that alone makes the journey worth it.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m a private chef and the owner of Herbly Wonderful, where I create personalized dining experiences that highlight fresh, local ingredients. My specialty is crafting menus that showcase seasonal produce, high-quality meats, and sustainably sourced seafood, working directly with local farmers, fishermen, and butchers to bring the best ingredients to the table.
What sets me apart is my commitment to community-driven cooking. I don’t just prepare meals—I create connections between the people I cook for and the local producers who make it all possible. My Chef’s Menu is my pride and joy, as it allows me to curate dishes based on seasonal ingredients and my fine dining background, giving clients a unique, restaurant-quality experience in the comfort of their own homes.
I take pride in the relationships I’ve built and the impact my food has on bringing people together. Whether it’s an intimate date night, a special celebration, or a gathering with loved ones, my goal is always to create an unforgettable experience through food.
Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
I haven’t had bad luck, but if meeting the right people at the right time counts as good luck, then I’ve had plenty. Early on, I connected with incredible people who introduced me to a larger network, shaping my business in ways I’m truly grateful for.
