Hi Tatianna, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
We started LETMEE EAT because my husband and I noticed there are not any mom and pop donut shops here in Lexington. We moved from the midwest, where donut shops are everywhere! We decided we were gong to start with a home-based donut shop and offer free delivery. One day we hope to have a shop of our own. My husband came up with the name LETMEE. It stands for all the names of our family members. Now we are getting recognized and getting repeated customers. It’s very exciting!
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I would say mostly it has been smooth, because we really planned everything before getting started. We wanted to make sure we got all of the legal stuff out of the way first and of course, the logistics. We priced out all the ingredients and supplies we needed. Then we made up sales to see how much it would cost versus profit. Once we saw the numbers, we were in! We did have some side eyes when we started because we were trying to talk people up about it and and them our business cards. Got some weird looks sometimes, but that’s ok. I also know that not everyone loves donuts, so we also offer cinnamon rolls and muffins. The cinnamon rolls are taking off more lately.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Here at LETMEE EAT, we make fresh, made-to-order donuts, cinnamon rolls, and muffins. We specialize in donuts, both raised and cake. We are set apart because we make fresh simple donuts and they are made as soon as you order them, or whenever you’d like them. It does take a few hours for the raised ones, and little less time for the cake, but worth it I promise. We also offer free delivery which makes it easier ford our customers who have busy lives with working at home or with kids. I am so proud that my husband and I took this leap and went for our dream. My husband and I truly enjoy working together and so glad that we have quiet mornings to do so. I would love for your readers to know that we make each batch from scratch and made when you order. We don’t cut corners and use real ingredients. We make them with love and hope that you will order from us soon!
Do you have any advice for those looking to network or find a mentor?
Honestly, just telling friends, neighbors, and posting on social media has helped us grow. We also leave our business cards around town so that people will start recognizing us more. We are hoping to be just by word of mouth!
