Today we’d like to introduce you to Stephanie Carrera.
Hi Stephanie, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Ever since I was 13, I’ve had a passion for doing nails. That was the age when I bought my very first nail kit, and it opened up a whole new world for me. I started practicing myself, and over the years, I kept honing my skills and experimenting with different designs. As I improved, I realized that I not only loved doing my nails but also wanted to share that joy with others. Eventually, I felt confident enough in my abilities to start taking on clients. Seeing my work evolve and getting positive feedback from friends and family inspired me to turn this passion into a way to earn my own money at a young age.
I’ve always wished to make money on my terms, without being tied to a traditional hourly wage, so I never took a typical job. When I discovered my passion for doing nails, it felt like a dream come true. I realized I could turn something I truly love into a business, allowing me to earn an income while doing what brings me joy. Since this is my first and only job, I’ve dedicated myself to developing my skills and building a connection with my clients. It’s incredibly fulfilling to witness my passion blossom into a source of income, offering me the freedom and flexibility I’ve longed for. Now, I have the option to choose when I work and how many clients I take on, enabling me to share my love for nail art with others. I understand how important it is to feel understood and appreciated, and I strive to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere for everyone I work with. This journey in the nail industry feels like a beautiful path, and I’m excited to grow alongside my clients. I have always wanted to start doing nails because I’ve loved experimenting with different artwork and designs ever since I can remember.
There’s something so satisfying about expressing creativity through nail art. Whether I was drawing on paper or painting my nails with unique patterns, I was always drawn to the idea of making something beautiful. As I got older, I began to explore various nail techniques and styles, trying everything from classic looks to intricate designs. I loved the challenge of recreating trends I’d seen online and adding my personal touch to them. Each new design felt like a tiny canvas where I could let my imagination run wild.
Eventually, I decided to pursue my passion seriously, learning more about nail care, tools, and art techniques. The joy of bringing my ideas to life on someone’s nails and seeing their excitement is what inspired me to turn this love into a dedicated practice. It’s amazing how something I’ve always enjoyed can now be a fulfilling part of my life!
Now that I’ve improved my skills in nails, I’m excited to be taking the next steps toward my future by getting licensed and enrolling in cosmetology school. I feel ready to start a rewarding career in this industry, and I truly believe this is just the beginning. I feel so blessed to see my nail journey expanding and evolving, and I can’t wait to see where this path leads me. Each step I take brings new opportunities for growth and creativity, and I’m looking forward to all the amazing experiences that lie ahead!
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
When I first started doing nails, I found it challenging to master all the different designs. Some of the designs were particularly difficult, and I often struggled to achieve the results that matched the pictures my clients showed me. However, I learned that it all takes practice. Over time, as I continued to work on my nail art skills, I definitely improved and became more confident in my abilities.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
What I want people to know about nails is that you can start any day, at any time. If you want to do nails, practice every day until you get better. Do not give up.
What matters most to you?
Building a bond with my clients is really important to me as well. I want them to feel valued and appreciated during our time together. It’s not just about doing their nails; it’s about creating a positive and enjoyable experience. When clients leave happy and confident with their nails, it means I’ve done my job well. I strive to foster relationships that make them excited to return, knowing they’ll get both great service and a personal touch. Ultimately, it’s about making them feel beautiful and satisfied with their choices.
