Exploring Life & Business with Melissa Nobles of The Blessed Barn

Today we’d like to introduce you to Melissa Nobles

Melissa, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Over twenty years ago, our young family, blessed to have a beautiful property that had been in our family for generations, began to dream and dream BIG!!

We wondered what we could create on this land and how we could make it a special place.
Our family always thought that the dream for this property would be focused around horses.
We NEVER dreamed of a wedding venue.

Over time, our dreams evolved and became clearer as God revealed His plan for this little piece of heaven on earth.
In 2017, we took a leap of faith and answered His call, introducing The Blessed Barn.

Our vision was to establish a space where our community could gather and celebrate, where fellowship was cherished, and where families and friends could enjoy quality time together.
Living in such a small town we truly did not know how this would go. We prayed for God to bless us with fifteen weddings a year. Let me just say, He has blessed abundantly more than what we ever dreamed.
Weddings, proms, birthday parties, baby showers, cooperate events, church services and more.

Our story tells of a family’s immense love, faith in the Lord, and their commitment to create something greater than themselves. And now, the most rewarding aspect is that we have the privilege of being a part others story.

And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.

1 Corinthians 13:13

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The hardest part of our journey was getting started. The building process.
We were the first wedding venue in our county to receive the agriculture tourism permit and build from the ground up.
It was four steps forward and three steps back.
We finally broke ground on December 18, 2018 and our daughters wedding was on April 13, 2019.
The Lord, amazing builder, wonderful contractor and our hard working family made it happen.
We received the CO from the county on Friday, April 12th, yes the day before her wedding.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
We are a family owned event venue.

Our venue is a rustic barn venue with a twist of elegance.
We specialize in weddings but also hold other events.
Myself and daughters also provide day of coordinating services for our couples.
We love keeping things organized and on time.

We are known for providing not one but two rustic barns with a courtyard in the center. There is not another venue with this design.
We believe that the two barns and also The Goody Barn sets us apart. The Goody Barn is where over 1000 decor items are stored. These beautiful decoration come with the rental of the venue at NO extra charge.

We are most proud of providing our brides and grooms with a beautiful space, a wonderful experience and helping them feel like family.

We want people to know that this is all possible because of the Lord Jesus Christ, our faith, our hard work and working as a family. It truly takes all of us to make this happen.

Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
It was a BIG risk. We were totally out of our comfort zone.

Who would have ever dreamed that a wedding venue in the small town of Aynor, down a little country dirt road on the back of a 30 acre farm could be successful?

We did not allow fear of the unknown to hold us back.
Our amazing crazy family had the faith to follow God’s plan.

We have been in business for almost six years. Over the years we have had to make major decisions about adding to the venue.
Each time we would talk about this as a family and most important we would pray.

Our next BIG Risk is The Blue Butterfly. We are now in the process of building a home of the property for our bridal party, family/friends to stay for the weekend.

Life itself is a risk but through prayer, hard work and dedication God will open doors that can lead to many blessings and opportunities.
I say dream and dream BIG!!
