Today we’d like to introduce you to Loretta Green-Warren.
Hi Loretta, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My story began with a love for poetry when I was very young. When I wrote I could see images in my mind. As time passed on the love for poetry evolved into a love for story telling. I knew that I was given a gift and was meant to inspire others. That knowing lead me to publish my first book. I believed that I was meant for more, so I stepped out on faith and decided to become an independent filmmaker. I never believed in asking permission to do or be anything. I always believed that if God placed something inside me that he would make provision for the thing to be birthed. I had a vision to create a platform where I and other like me could share our unique voices and talents with audiences globally. From this vision IBL Network was born. Now I am able to foster a global community of independent filmmakers, entertainment creators and artist giving them the opportunity to share their voices, diverse perspective, and compelling stories to inspire others.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Building a streaming platform and building a community behind it has not been easy. Unfortunately for me, I have no one to model my path after. I am the first in my family to take on such a venture. It’s been difficult staying motivated because at times I feel like I’m alone on this journey. I do have my husband and kids who are great supporters but the vision is mine alone. Throughout this process of building I have for the most part been “a one woman show”. Building a team has been most difficult but God has been faithful so I press forward. Another big challenge has been financial strain. Building a streaming network is a huge financial strain but a worthwhile investment. I truly believe in the vision. Lastly, marketing is challenging for me. I have to admit that it is an area of weakness for me. With everything that I have on my plate, I’d prefer to get someone else to do it.

Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
I have been in the entertainment industry for several years and have worked in fields that require me to interact with people but the surprising thing is the fact that I am extremely shy. I do well one on one but in a setting where there are large groups of people I get nervous. I prefer to be behind the camera or in the background, not out front. It makes me uncomfortable putting myself out there. I don’t fear rejection, I don’t like to lose and I have to be in control. I am beautifully complicated. Oh and one more thing, I see ghosts.
