Exploring Life & Business with Ellen Frazier of Frazier Lending Group empowered by NEXA Mortgage

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ellen Frazier.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
If you had told me a few years ago that I’d be running two thriving businesses — a mortgage brokerage and a women’s empowerment community — I would’ve laughed and poured another glass of wine.

My story really began in the middle of burnout. I was a successful mortgage broker, but behind the scenes I was exhausted, disconnected, and numbing myself just to keep going. Then the world shut down, and like many people, I was forced to face myself. I entered therapy, had endoscopic sleeve surgery, and began to peel back the layers of my life — physically, emotionally, and spiritually.

That process led me to sobriety, and sobriety led me to purpose. Through healing, I discovered that my true power wasn’t in “hustling harder,” but in alignment, authenticity, and service. I founded Booze Free Babes, a sisterhood for women who are curious about living alcohol-free and fully alive. What started as a small online community has grown into workshops, a podcast, and soon a white-labeled app — all built around my signature EVOLVE Method (Embrace, Voyage, Overcome, Liberate, Visualize, Empower).

At the same time, I was rebuilding my business with a new sense of clarity. Frazier Lending Group became more than a mortgage company — it became a mission-driven brand. For every home financed, we help fund safe and sober spaces for women to heal and thrive. It’s where purpose meets profit.

Today, I get to help people secure homes through lending, while helping women come home to themselves through recovery and empowerment. My journey from burnout to balance is proof that reinvention is possible — and that sometimes the most powerful thing you can do is stop running, get still, and start evolving.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Oh, it’s been anything but smooth. My path has been paved with detours, breakdowns, and plenty of moments where I questioned everything — including myself.

When I decided to get sober, I thought my only battle would be with alcohol. What I didn’t realize was that sobriety would ask me to face every part of myself I’d been avoiding. I had to rebuild not just my habits, but my entire identity — as a woman, as a caregiver, as a business owner. The truth is, it’s one thing to quit drinking… it’s another to learn how to actually feel again.

In business, that transformation wasn’t always graceful either. When I got sober, I lost some clients, connections, and even confidence. I had to relearn how to sell, how to network, and how to show up — without the liquid courage that used to carry me. But through that process, I learned how to lead from authenticity instead of performance. I discovered that real connection always outshines perfection.

Running Frazier Lending Group while launching Booze Free Babes also tested me in ways I didn’t expect. There were seasons where I was burning the candle at both ends, trying to build a heart-centered brand in an industry that’s often driven by numbers. But those challenges forced me to redefine success. I realized that success for me is not just about closing loans — it’s about opening doors, literally and figuratively, for others to rise.

There were moments of fear, financial uncertainty, self-doubt, and the constant juggle of caregiving, entrepreneurship, and personal growth. But every challenge has become part of my evolution. It’s what inspired me to create the EVOLVE Method — because I learned firsthand that growth isn’t linear, it’s cyclical. You don’t just arrive; you keep evolving

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
At first glance, it might seem like I run two very different businesses — one focused on home loans and the other on personal transformation — but to me, they’re deeply connected. Both are about helping women find home.

Frazier Lending Group is my mortgage brokerage, empowered by NEXA Mortgage. We partner with over 250 wholesale lenders nationwide, which means I’m able to match each client with the best program for their specific needs — from first-time homebuyers to real estate investors. What truly sets us apart is the heart behind the business. We don’t just fund homes; we fund safe and sober spaces for women to heal and thrive. Every mortgage we close helps support the mission of Booze Free Babes, creating a ripple effect of empowerment in our community.

Booze Free Babes started as an online sisterhood for women exploring sobriety and self-discovery, and has grown into a full personal development platform. We offer workshops, retreats, coaching, and soon — a white-labeled Booze Free Babes App that integrates daily rituals like movement, mindfulness, journaling, and connection through my signature EVOLVE Method (Embrace, Voyage, Overcome, Liberate, Visualize, Empower). It’s not just about quitting alcohol; it’s about rediscovering who you are underneath the noise.

Brand-wise, I’m most proud that everything I do — whether it’s helping a family close on their first home or guiding a woman toward emotional freedom — is rooted in purpose over profit. My brands are unapologetically feminine, bold, and mission-driven. We’re proof that you can blend business with impact, and that you don’t have to choose between success and soul.

What I want readers to know is that transformation doesn’t happen overnight — but it does happen when you surround yourself with the right people and tools. Whether you’re ready to buy a home or build a new version of yourself, both of my brands are designed to help you feel grounded, confident, and empowered in your next chapter.

How do you define success?
My definition of success has changed completely over the years. There was a time when I thought success meant hustle — more loans closed, more accolades, more of everything. But in chasing “more,” I lost connection with myself. Sobriety taught me that true success isn’t about accumulation; it’s about alignment.

Today, success looks simpler — and far more intentional. It’s waking up with peace instead of panic. It’s having the energy to be present for my family, my clients, and my community. It’s being able to serve from a full cup instead of an empty one.

Success for me is heart-focused. It’s creating a ripple effect through my work — whether that’s helping a family find stability through a mortgage or guiding a woman toward self-trust and healing inside Booze Free Babes. It’s when purpose and prosperity coexist — not in competition, but in harmony.

Material things used to be my measure; now it’s moments. Connection, creativity, contribution. When my work feels meaningful, my relationships feel authentic, and my soul feels steady — that’s success.

Because at this stage in my life, I don’t just want to build a business. I want to build a life that feels as good on the inside as it looks on the outside.
