Exploring Life & Business with Elle Moe of dubose

Today we’d like to introduce you to Elle Moe.

Hi Elle, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?

Absolutely! My name is Elle Dubose Moe and I am the founder and CEO of the skincare brand dubose! I am a Charleston, SC native and advanced aesthetic injector. I have always loved doing things differently and my career path definitely highlights that part of me. It all began in college when I decided that I wanted to go into the nursing program to pursue a career in aesthetic injecting. So many people questioned my career path. My peers, mentors, and professors didn’t understand why or how I could use a nursing degree to get into the world of aesthetic injecting. At the time, it was truly unheard of for someone to go to nursing school with hopes of pursuing an injecting career upon graduation. None of it made sense to them, but it made complete sense to me. At the time I didn’t know it, but this very career decision molded me into the woman I am today. I learned at a young age that passion and determination will always far exceed fear and doubt, a sentiment that I realize so many around me have yet to learn.

Fast forward 2.5 years, I transitioned to be the lead advanced injector running a brand new clinic alongside a group of talented plastic surgeons. As my patient book sat full and I was unable to take on new clients, it began to hit me that my true gift was beyond injecting, it was making women feel seen and heard. I could no longer only pour into who sat in my injecting chair, I had so much more to give, so many more women to empower. My clinic, patients and myself had access to the best of the best, yet they still lacked at-home skincare that specifically enhanced and targeted what we were targeting in clinic and they didn’t have that hydrated, bouncy, luster that we all know. Their current routines had a gaping hole and they needed access to ingredients and products that didn’t exist. And so after years and years of research, dubose was born!

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?

When I first started working on dubose, I didn’t tell a soul—not even my family. I was scared and uncertain, this was entirely new territory for me, but my determination never wavered. I was not going to let anyone talk me out of what I felt called to do and I knew from experience the challenges that came from doing so. I realized that it was okay to start in silence. It was okay to believe in yourself before others do the same.

I didn’t have all the answers, and I still don’t, but the fear of what could have been has always outweighed the fear of failure. If you’re starting something new and it feels like you’re doing it all alone, know that so many others have sat where you sit. Don’t wait for the world’s approval. The entrepreneurial journey is filled with uncertainty, market shifts, new competitors, and challenges at every corner. To be successful you must believe in yourself before others do the same and be comfortable starting in silence. After all, every idea is stupid until it works…

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?

At dubose, we believe skincare deserves more than just attention—it deserves purposeful innovation. With over six years of experience in skincare and injectables, I noticed a common thread among my patients who were doing all of the right things: despite following clinically proven routines, they struggled with persistent inflammation and lacked the bouncy luster they all coveted. The solution? It wasn’t as simple as it seemed…

After extensive research, I realized there was a heaping gap in American skincare. Leading skincare brands were missing a key focus: reducing inflammation—the root cause behind dull, dehydrated skin. And so, dubose was born—a brand dedicated to filling these gaps with scientifically backed ingredients and collections designed to deliver real, visible outcomes. dubose isn’t just a brand. It’s a passion project turned mission: to create products that provide hydration, reduce inflammation, and give you the healthy, radiant, bouncy skin you’ve always desired. Each collection is thoughtfully curated, with a specific purpose and outcome in mind. Our goal is simple: give each product the individualized research, time, and attention to detail it requires to become best-in-class, while providing her consumers with the education they deserve. This commitment ensures every product launch is not just about skincare, but about education—empowering you to make informed choices that work for your unique skin needs.

When I developed our hero product, re-du® serum, it became clear that the packaging couldn’t just hold the formula — it needed to elevate it. That meant obsessing over every detail of the user experience, from the way it dispenses to the way it feels in your hand. Every cap, every seal, every unit dose is a design decision rooted in science and user experience. That’s how “the dubose drop” was born — a unit-concentrated delivery system that gives you the exact amount your skin needs, every time. This is the dubose difference — not just what’s inside the bottle, but how you experience it. Because I’ve always said: If you’re not doing it differently, don’t do it at all.

What does success mean to you?

Success for Elle is always going to be evolution – not only evolution for herself and the company, but for everyone around her. Success is the art of evolution that has no end goal, last chapter or final destination; it’s a forever ongoing journey. Every step and every milestone is a new opportunity to evolve, not just as a founder + CEO, but as a human being.

Success is all about evolution. You can’t live a big life in a small environment. If you stay in the wrong place for too long you will start to shrink. You start to think like them. You start to want what they want. You start to feel smaller and smaller. Put yourself in rooms you may question you belong in. Sit at tables you may not feel capable of sitting at. You will see how small you were thinking and witness what real ambition looks like… leading you to realize that the problem was not you, it was where you were standing and who you were with.
