Exploring Life & Business with Daniela Reichert of Reichert Pilates in Summerville

Today we’d like to introduce you to Daniela Reichert.

Hi Daniela, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Hey, my name is Daniela, born in Germany. During my studying years I already experienced severe migraines. I thought it was just the stress. In my mid 20’s I moved to Spain where I fell in love with Pilates. I continued having back and neck pain and these migraines, and Pilates helped me so much with it. Turned out I have Scoliosis, causing these issues. I loved Pilates so much I decided I wanted to make other people feel better and healthy again as well. I completed 2 full comprehensive Pilates Trainings ( each 600-800 hours !), in a foreign language.
I worked in different studios in Marbella, Spain.
In 2015 I moved to Summerville, SC, where I opened my own studio “Reichert Pilates in Summerville”. It was always my dream to have not just a place where people can work out, but to create a community, where people can become friends, share their stories, feel safe and happy. Which I am happy to say we have created that at Reichert Pilates in Summerville. I still find it fascinating, listening to each clients story ( the good and the bad), accompany them in their health journey. It is wonderful to work with young kids, men and women of all different ages and even 80-90 years old!

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
to study in Spanish was difficult
Covid made us close a few months but we survived !
We were able to offer some online classes and:
It was nice to hear clients say ” Pilates was our highlight during these lockdowns”, and to “keep seeing my Pilates friends at least online”

We’ve been impressed with Reichert Pilates in Summerville, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
We are a boutique Pilates Studio. That means we are a very personalized Pilates Studio, rooted in classical principles, blended with contemporary movement, and kept intentionally small so every body gets real attention.

Reichert Pilates in Summerville is not a high-volume reformer room and it is not a generic fitness class on Pilates equipment. The studio combines deep Pilates knowledge, individualized coaching and a broad range of traditional apparatus with contemporary movement and rehabilitation-minded teaching.
All of our instructors have hours of training and years of knowledge.

The method matters here. So does the person doing it. Training is built around control, precision, breath, alignment and body awareness, then adapted intelligently to clients goals and experience.

Traditional Pilates apparatus
Reformer, Cadillac, Wunda and High Chair, towers, Ladder Barrel, Ped-i- Pull, and more.

Classical + contemporary teaching
Strong roots without getting stuck in one narrow style of movement.
We teach the client in front of us and know how to change an exercise if needed.

Close instructor attention
Small classes make room for cueing, adjustments and safer progression.

Small groups ( up to 6), duets and private sessions

We offer teacher training and mentoring of new instructors, and offer workshops during the year

Is there anything else you’d like to share with our readers?
We always listen do our clients needs and wishes, that can mean we add a new class, a workshop, or just a Christmas get together.
Some of our regular clients book a private session from time to time to come with their family! That is wonderful
