Exploring Life & Business with Chelseaa Harrell of Chelly Designs Studio

Today we’d like to introduce you to Chelseaa Harrell.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Crafting was a hobby for me and the business really wasn’t the plan initially. I was making gifts for a wedding party and it just happened. I would go to work and people would ask who made that, I would say me and I would take orders and it just grew from there into Chelly Designs Studio. In October of 2017, I began to take it serious and move into an official business.

It began with shirts, wine glasses, clear umbrellas, etc. I currently offer all things custom, you tell me, I make it. Apparel, Engraved tumblers, acrylic signage, I make it all! In 2026, I will be adding embroidery to the line up.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
For the most part, it’s been smooth. In the beginning, it was funding. I wanted to do so much with limited access to funds to build my business. But with time and patience, it’s grown so much and I’m forever grateful for my customer base and their continued support.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
It’s a custom experience. From a personalized gift, to brides, to event planners, to bakers, we service everyone! Customers have always known my business to provide a great final product quick and quality. I’m most proud of my business being a one woman show and the desire to constantly grow. Being stagnant is not an option and there is no limit.

What were you like growing up?
Growing up I was an active kid and a little bossy. My parents kept me in activities from swimming, basketball, track, and skating. But most days you would catch me at Red Wing Rollerway with my friends skating.
