Today we’d like to introduce you to Annie Foster.
Hi Annie, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Hello, the way I got into the beauty industry was all apart of my purpose. I started as a self taught makeup artist around 2009/2010 I would ask random people could I do their makeup, they would let me and back then makeup was not where it is today so it was absolutely not at good quality lol, however I was building a brand at the time and I had no clue, 2014 I was fired from a job that I had been working at for almost 8 years, getting fired from that job helped push me into my purpose more, I was able to go to esthetician school for makeup to become better and certified, little did I know was that in SC. Knowing how to do makeup is not the only thing that is taught in esthetician school it’s more of skincare and waxing. I wanted to drop out but something was telling me to, stay and stick it out. I did that and became one of the top students in my class. I graduated and received my license at the end of 2014. I started working at ULTA beauty for a million dollar company called Benefit cosmetics inside of ULTA I became a top brow artist for this company, around 2016 something shifted in me and I wanted more for myself, I went up for a executive position and was denied after that i decided I would open my own business. I opened my salon Facesnmore Facial and Body Salon in 2017 over the years it has grown tremendously, to add to my salon in 2020 I launched my own skincare line More Cosmetics So that I can send a skincare regimen home with clients, it is now 2026 and my salon is still open and growing.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has definitely not been a smooth road, however as a successful business owner you can not expect perfection that is not realistic, I did not go to school for business so a lot of things I had to learn over the years. A few things I had to learn is you have to become disciplined in your own personal life because that will pour over into your business life.

We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
Over the course of the years I will not say I have had good or bad luck, cause every situation that presented itself in my business was to grow from. So I say it was apart of “The Purpose”
