Hi Aiden, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Early on, when I was about 15 years old, I always had a desire to work. I would often switch between jobs, like being a drive through worker, a pool cleaner, and even a landscaper. Something I always had, was a keen attention to detail. Everything around me, like my trucks and storage areas had to be organized. I then got an opportunity to detail cars, which I have always been obsessed with. My best friend started a very successful detailing company. Working alongside him, I learned all the ins and outs regarding detailing, and also a large variety of business skills. It was the best of both worlds. I have always had public speaking skills, like the confidence, and ability to speak clearly, concisely, and to build heavy relationships with the people around me. A year ago, I created Holy City Details. It was one of the best decisions I have made. Starting out, I would clean family and friends vehicles. I then started to walk around my neighborhood and ask neighbors if they would be interested in getting their car cleaned. I thought there would be no better way to get my name out there, then social media and word of mouth. Eventually, I would start to get the ball rolling. I had neighbors recommending me on apps like Nextdoor and Facebook. After that it was a cycle. One recommendation, could lead me to a couple jobs, and with those jobs lead more recommendation. I ended up building a reputation on Nextdoor, which lead to over 60 favorites, and just recently being voted the neighborhood favorite of 2024, regarding Automotive services. It was a rough road, and still is at some points. I learned that being able to stay consistent and persevere through the harder times is what got me here today.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It was never a smooth road starting out. Building clients and relationships are hard with no portfolio to back it up. Id say the hardest struggles for me were to bring and keep consistent work. There are days where I had a lot of work, and a lot of days, even weeks where I had no work. I also had to compete with bigger and more successful companies. This meant that I had to work relentlessly to grow and make my company different than all others. At the very beginning Id say the ability to not quit is a struggle. I pushed through and kept building regardless of the profit that I was receiving. I believe that is why my company is the way it is today.
We’ve been impressed with Holy City Details, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Holy City Details specializes in automotive and marine detailing. We perform all detailing services, including paint corrections and ceramic coatings on cars, to compounding and polishing boats. Id say one of the biggest things that separate me from the rest of the companies is the ability to build a friendship.
