Today we’d like to introduce you to Abigale Acerbi
Hi Abigale, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Hi there!
My name is Abigale Acerbi and I am a twenty-three year old local natural-light photographer based in the Conway & Myrtle Beach Area. I’m the girl who lives behind the camera. I was born and raised in Conway, SC. I am very passionate about everything I do and my main goal with every booking is to capture those moments in time for my clients to have and to hold onto forever. I have always had a little love for capturing photos whether it be family members, beautiful skies, animals, or anything that caught my eye. I have been creeping my way into the photography business since I was a Junior in High School at Conway High. I officially started my business a few years later and haven’t put my camera down since. I wouldn’t have gotten to where I am today without the people in my life who have been such an amazing support system. My Fiancé, Ryan has been one of my biggest supporters since starting my business. We have been together since May of 2016, which was when we were in eighth grade. We are now happy engaged as of April 2024 and are getting married May 2nd of 2026! My parents have also been my other biggest supporters whether it be driving me to sessions, helping make setups perfect, or anything in between they have been there. Lastly, my clients are who have truly gotten me to where I am today. Just from each and everyone of them for choosing to book me helps my love grow more and more for my job. Many of them have become such amazing friends or even chosen family at this point. I owe it all to them!
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Photography is a job that comes with many ups and downs. It is never easy especially here on the coast. One of the biggest struggles is what us locals call the “off-season” this is from January to about mid March. The weather is normally way to cold that no one wants to be outside which is understandable!! One of the other struggles is keeping up with everyone else, which you truly can never do. In our area we aren’t lacking photographers however, this place is home to some of the MOST talented photographers you’ll ever meet. Many of them that I have booked to take my own photos or have met personally! But, some of the smooth things were constant clients who are very loyal once picking “their photographer”, having such amazing nature locations around our area, and having tourist season!
As you know, we’re big fans of Abigale Acerbi Photography. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
One of the main things that I feel like I always share when clients are wanting to book, I share that I am a 100% natural light photographer. I do not use any artificial lighting unless we shoot inside. At Abigale Acerbi Photography I am the Owner and only photographer for my business. I specialize in families, kids, seniors, and weddings. I am mostly known for my Wedding and Family/Kid Photography! I think what sets me apart from others is that I am very young compared to everyone else in my field professionally. I also think I set myself apart as I am very open to always trying something fun and new for sessions! For my brand, I am very proud that I fully built this on my own from the age of sixteen and on. I have had amazing support but this is something I built for myself with my own name. For the readers, I want you to know a few things. For my brand, I am a woman-owned business and here at Abigale Acerbi Photography, I love everyone!! I offer many sessions including the following: Families, Maternity, Kids, Headshots, Senior/Grads, Boudoirs, Engagements, Couples, Lifestyle Newborns, Seasonal Minis, and Weddings!!
What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
The most important lesson I have learned along my journey is that you cannot compare yourself to everyone else in your field. Your work needs to reflect how you want things to look for your brand. Do not change yourself to be like others. I have also learned that not everyone is going to charge the same pricing or agree on pricing. I also learned that not every client you meet is going to be a good match for you.
Pricing:
- Do I offer Travel? – Yes, I am willing to travel outside of my local area, state, and US. However, I do charge a travel fee. This is to cover my travel expenses and can be discussed at the time of booking. I have captured many beautiful memories in several places across SC and NC so far!
- How many photos do I give back? – This completely depends on the type of session you book, the length of the session, and if you are on time. Normally my mini sessions get back at least 150 photos. My hour sessions get back at least 250 photos and weddings get back at least 500 photos. You get these all in color and black and white so twice the amount.
- Do I offer Mini Sessions? – Yes, I do offer mini sessions throughout the year. I normally offer ones for all the holidays such as Christmas, fall, easter, etc.
- How far out do I book? – I book as far out as to the next two years typically.
