Exploring Life & Business with Aaryan Bhagat of Divya Jyot Group

Today we’d like to introduce you to Aaryan Bhagat.

Hi Aaryan, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I’m Aaryan Bhagat, 17 years old—a student by designation, and an active part of the management team at Divya Jyot Group of Schools, founded by my father in Ahmedabad.

Growing up, I was surrounded by conversations that revolved around education. Watching my father build schools from the ground up taught me more than any textbook ever could. What began as childhood curiosity gradually evolved into a genuine passion.

Today, after school hours, I work closely with my father and our leadership team on communication strategies, digital outreach, and initiatives that merge traditional values with modern, tech-driven practices. We’re currently developing what we believe will be one of Ahmedabad’s most iconic school campuses, and I’m proud to be a part of that journey.

Beyond academics and work, I’m a passionate trekker and mountain lover. I’ve completed several high-altitude treks across India—each one teaching me valuable lessons in patience, resilience, and perspective. Nature has a way of grounding you, and that mindset deeply influences how I approach leadership and responsibility.

Our family business lies at the intersection of education and construction—and for me, this journey is a blend of learning, legacy, adventure, and purpose. And it’s only just begun.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Growing up, my father never pressured me about academics. He never scolded me for not spending enough time with books or pushed me toward marks or ranks. Instead, he was preparing me for something much bigger—real life. While others were busy with textbooks, I was going with him to meetings, site visits, and vendor discussions. I didn’t realize it at the time, but he was training me through experience—teaching me how to think, decide, lead, and adapt.

At 17, I now find myself as an active part of the management team at Divya Jyot Group of Schools. But it didn’t just happen overnight. One of the earliest challenges I faced was being taken seriously. In rooms full of professionals—architects, engineers, contractors—I was the youngest by far. I quickly learned that age doesn’t earn respect; actions do. I had to prove myself not with words, but with work.

Most of what I do now wasn’t taught to me in a classroom. I had to learn on the go—whether it was understanding the flow of construction projects, managing teams, handling logistics, or implementing digital systems. There was no formal training—just real problems that needed real solutions. Mistakes came with the territory, and so did moments of doubt. But every setback turned into a lesson, and every lesson added to my confidence.

Working with my father in the family business comes with its own unique pressure—not just to contribute, but to carry forward a legacy that’s been built with passion and vision. I’ve had to find my own voice while still honoring the foundation he’s laid. Bridging traditional values with modern ideas hasn’t always been easy either. Introducing tech-driven processes and fresh approaches into an established system required patience, persistence, and sometimes—multiple attempts.

Now, as we work toward building what we hope will be one of Ahmedabad’s most iconic school campuses, I feel incredibly proud. Not just because I’m part of something big—but because I’ve grown through it, from the ground up. Every challenge, every site visit, every hard conversation has shaped me. And thanks to my father’s belief in real-world learning, I now carry a kind of education that no textbook could have given me.

As you know, we’re big fans of Divya Jyot Group . For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
At Divya Jyot, we don’t just run a school—we build a second home for every child who walks through our gates. What began as a dream by my father has grown into a well-loved school group in Ahmedabad, rooted in strong values, rich culture, and forward-thinking education.

Our classrooms are filled not just with learning, but with life. While academics are a priority, we place equal emphasis on nurturing confidence, creativity, and compassion. We’re known for our warm school culture, dedicated teachers, strong parent relationships, and an unwavering commitment to shaping well-rounded, joyful individuals.

Now, we’re stepping into an exciting new chapter—expanding into a one-of-its-kind, iconic school campus in Ahmedabad. This is more than just infrastructure; it’s a thoughtfully designed space meant to inspire, lead, and prepare children for life beyond the classroom walls.

I’m Aaryan, 17, and a proud part of the management team alongside my father. While still a student myself, I actively contribute to how we communicate with our parent community, build our digital presence, and introduce tech-driven solutions that make our systems more efficient and future-ready.

What makes Divya Jyot truly special is our balance—between tradition and innovation, warmth and ambition, structure and soul. We’re not just preparing students for exams—we’re preparing them for life.

What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
One of the most important lessons I’ve learned is that real growth doesn’t happen in just one place—it happens everywhere. In classrooms, on mountain trails, inside meeting rooms, and often, in the quiet moments in between.

I’ve discovered that some of the most valuable knowledge comes from simply being involved—from watching, trying, failing, and learning on the go. Working alongside my father in building Divya Jyot has taught me more than I ever expected—about leadership, about patience, and about staying grounded no matter how high you aim.

Trekking has also shaped my mindset in big ways. The mountains teach you that the journey is slow, sometimes silent, but every step counts. You learn to breathe through the discomfort, trust your path, and never turn back once you’ve started the climb.

My approach is simple: Talk less. Build more. Work until the work is complete—not halfway, not almost, but fully.

And if there’s one thing I truly believe, it’s that experiences shape you in ways no lesson plan can. Keep showing up, stay curious, and let the journey teach you what no one else can.
