Today we’d like to introduce you to Will Roth
Hi Will, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Hi! My name is Will Roth, and I am the lead singer in my band.
In late 2023 my brother Pat and I decided to pursue our dream of creating music, and playing it live.
It all started while I was working in car sales, and had found myself longing for something more. That’s when I did some research and discovered a small studio in Mount Pleasant, called Charleston Sounds. The head engineer and producer, Noah McGrath had been more than willing to help me record some music that I had written. At this time, being a singer with little experience on the guitar, I had asked Pat to come in and help lay down some chords and notes for a specific part. Afterwords, Pat and I had a conversation where he explained to me that he wanted to do this again, and that’s when we decided to take it a step further and form The Roth Brothers.
Since then, we have released a total of seven different singles, all of which were completely written by the two of us and recorded with our now good friend and producer Noah! Today those seven songs are closing in on a million streams with thousands coming in daily. It has been amazing to see where the streams are coming from. Not only the United States, but also within 134 different countries world wide!
We would have never imagined that our music would be listened to by so many and shared with so many more. It truly has us inspired to keep going!
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
So far, everything has been smooth sailing for the most part! At times Pat and I have butted heads as brothers do, but we usually find ways to agree. In terms of the business side of things, that has been something that we are still navigating.
It’s tough because not only do we have to book gigs, shows, and events on our own, but the social media aspect of music is something we’re still working on. Of course, sometimes we both wish that we had a booking agent or manager to help carry the load, but for now we will continue to do our best.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I think what myself and Pat are most proud of when it comes to our music, is the reach it has had. Whether it’s opening a message on instagram from a fan located across the world, or seeing someone use our song over a post, it always leaves us feeling so grateful.
When I think of what sets us apart from others, I believe it’s our live performances. We have an unbelievably supportive friend group and fanbase here in Charleston that come to every show to support us. Pat and I have gotten to a point now, where the nerves of playing in front of others, either dissipate after that first song, or are just never there to begin with.
These are things that make me proud to be a Roth Brother.
What makes you happy?
Things that make me happy are usually pretty simple. My dog, my family, and my friends. I am a firm believer in enjoying the simple things in life. I also believe in chasing dreams. If you have an opportunity to do something you very much want to try, I say go for it. We would have never been here, had I never asked Pat to record guitar that day.
