Daily Inspiration: Meet Ryan Smart

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ryan Smart.

Hi Ryan, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstories.
I graduated from NNCU and found my new passion in 2015. My first love was the idea of making a commercial. I still have a write-up of a commercial written for coca cola big dreams, gracious to be able to provide excellence to small businesses. I’m preparing to write up and produce a commercial for Cremalicious ice cream brand made by Ms. L. Rogers. Deciding to return to the big dreams I had and utilize my curiosity.

However, I love being considered a creative being, and photography captivated my interest for quite some time. Instagram profile smarexcellence where smart is the brand and excellence is what I provide. Trying new things and created a space where I could highlight people in the community. The bit is called “in the neighborhood”. Hosted by my neighborhood Ryan. Instagram neighborhood Ryan (31 years old).

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I moved to Clemson because I was messing up in life. Right, when I felt I was at my low R.I.P. Sandra smart my mom passed in November of 2018. Now, I’m numb. Pain will do that to you. My license was suspended and I was staying with my brother until I figured out how to bounce back. God works, I was in a town with a bus system. And sidewalks. Living in a historically black “neighborhood”.

I had found a job and looked around and weighed my options. I was left with two choices Bojangles or Walmart as far as a job I could walk to. I interviewed for both and Walmart offered me more so I became a stocker. Walking to work for two years in South Carolina heat, rain, sleet snow. Met tons of people through Walmart but one in particular David Yeargin. I trained him on his first day and he invited me to bible study I started reading the bible, well not just reading but studying the bible. New friends who encouraged my reading and relationship with god.

Indulging in the living word throughout the year. Miracles happen I had to move and didn’t know where to go. The only place I could afford had two people in front of me for the spot. God works. They disappeared and I was able to move in. God works. My new friends and even people I’ve yet to meet put money together and bought me a car the same year. Being able to be a light in people’s lives has been an experience but there are so many people who have been a light in my life.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?

I’m me. Sometimes it may not set me apart from others but I’m perfectly fine either way.

Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
A most important lesson I’ve learned is God is always on time. You have to trust the process establish the faith and continue to pray.
