Daily Inspiration: Meet Roger Schmidt

Today we’d like to introduce you to Roger Schmidt.

Hi Roger, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I started doing landscaping and tree work part-time 25 years ago in between my shifts as a Police Officer. My good friend and roommate at the time owned his own business, so the opportunity worked out seamlessly. Once retired from my career in law enforcement I moved to South Carolina and decided to start my own business. It started out as basic lawn care in 2017, but rapidly changed into what it is today.
Along the way, we have purchased skid steers, excavators, dump trucks, and a plethora of trailers, each getting larger to accommodate the equipment as it became heavier even requiring me to obtain my commercial driver’s license.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Owning your own business always looks great from the eye of friends, but what is not seen, is the stress that comes with it. Early mornings, constant difficult decisions, constant mechanical breakdowns, balancing work and home life, doing your estimates on the weekends when everyone else is off, etc. But I have and will always say, it’s better than any office job on the planet and with that comes with its rewards.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
We are proud to be serving Lexington County and its surrounding areas as our business steadily grows. Our commitment to our customers is unmatched as we are redefining quality customer service to ensure building long lasting relationships to the members of our communities.

We offer land clearing, grade work, demolition services, commercial site work and dumpster rental among much more!

So, before we go, how can our readers or others connect or collaborate with you? How can they support you?
I have worked hard to build a network of friends that are in similar career paths as I am and enjoy collaborating on jobsites when the need calls for it.

The best support I can receive from friends and family is good word of mouth referrals. There is no bigger compliment than a referral.
