Today we’d like to introduce you to Rachel Mango.
Hi Rachel, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I have always been a bit of a rebel spirit. School was never my place. I wanted to be outside, building something, figuring it out on my own. Entrepreneur was wired into me before I had a word for it.
My first business came straight from how I grew up, a pet resort. I built it, ran it, loved it, and the moment it got routine I felt that itch again. I needed to create something new. I was deep into fitness at that point in my life, so I went back to school, became a personal trainer, a holistic health coach, and a life coach, and I opened a studio.
Then came the season that changed everything. Two businesses, three small kids, training hard, moving fast, holding it all together the way women are taught to. And my body started shutting down. I went to the doctors looking for an answer and what I got was a sentence. They told me I would spend the rest of my life in and out of hospitals.
I refused to accept that as my future.
What followed was a search. For real answers. For a way back to myself. It started with a book, You Can Heal Your Life by Louise Hay, and it cracked something open. I began with my internal landscape first, my thoughts, my emotions, the beliefs I had been carrying that were not even mine. Then I found peace in the woods. In long walks under the trees. In the quiet that does not ask anything of you. I found myself, the most extraordinary version of myself, the one I kept hidden but secretly wanted to be..That was just the beginning of what I would discover.
The further I walked that path, the more I understood that this was the work I was actually here to do.
Earth and Soul Adventures was born out of that walk. It is everything I learned coming back to life, offered to the people who are ready to do the same.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
No, it has not been a smooth road. Not even close.
I was working to heal a body the doctors said could not be healed without medication. I had to close down both of my businesses because I was too sick to keep them running. I had to rebuild physically and financially at the same time, from the ground up, with three small kids depending on me.
Then life kept asking more of me. I went through a divorce. I moved out of the home I had built. I lost my brother in an accident. I was emotionally, mentally, and physically exhausted in a way I did not know a person could survive.
For a long time, I was just trying to stay standing.
What I did not know then is that every single one of those losses was preparing me. The body taught me what real healing requires. The businesses taught me how to build again with clearer eyes. The divorce taught me what I would and would not abandon in myself ever again. Losing my brother taught me that life is too short and too sacred to spend it small.
I do not believe in wasting pain. Everything I walked through is now woven into the work I do. When someone shows up to Earth and Soul carrying something heavy, I am not guessing. I have been there. And I know the way back.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Earth and Soul Adventures is for the person who knows they were made for more and refuses to settle for less than an epic life.
I am a practitioner. I have studied with doctors and trained in the bodies of work that informed my path back. But I have also done the work myself, the kind that healed what doctors said could not be healed. So when I sit across from a client, I am not pulling from a textbook. I am pulling from the road I have already walked.
What I do is not just healing work, though healing is often where it begins. Healing is not the finish line, it is the starting line. And real healing happens in layers, on multiple levels. My work addresses all of them. The body. The being. The biology. The energy. The emotions. The beliefs. Every one of them is essential to the process of becoming extraordinary. We have to clear what is in the way so the path is clear to become who you were created to be.
From there, I guide people into how to live fully, with nature as one of the most powerful guides any of us will ever have.
We are far more powerful and far more capable than we can even imagine. Most of us have just forgotten. The adventure is what reminds us. Putting your body in a place that asks something of you, in a landscape older than any of your fears, with people who will not let you shrink, that is where remembering happens.
I am known for helping people awaken to their own true power and potential so they can live their most extraordinary life. Not the safe version. Not the version other people approved of. The real one.
What I am most proud of is that I am offering a path I actually walked. I did not learn this from a book. I went first so I could show the way.
Networking and finding a mentor can have such a positive impact on one’s life and career. Any advice?
They say when the student is ready, the teacher appears. That has been true for me every single time.
I have been blessed with incredible mentors. A woman who healed herself from stage four cancer naturally. A doctor who works with the emotions as the root of everything. Holistic practitioners who taught me how to heal in ways the conventional system had no language for. Each of them showed up at the exact moment I was ready to receive what they had to offer.
So my advice is this. Stop looking for the mentor and start becoming the student. Get clear on what you actually want to learn. Do the work to be ready for it. Read, study, practice, ask better questions. The right teachers are drawn to people who are already in motion, not people waiting to be rescued.
And when a mentor does appear, honor it. Show up. Do the work they ask of you. Be the kind of student you would want to teach.
The other thing I would say is to stay open. The mentor you need is not always the one you expected. Sometimes they look like a doctor. Sometimes they look like a stranger on a trail. Sometimes they look like a book that finds you at exactly the right time. Pay attention.
