Today we’d like to introduce you to Olivia Diaz.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My story really started with a busy schedule. As a cheerleader, even my summers were packed, which made it hard to find a traditional job to make money for myself. So, I decided to create my own. That’s how Magnolia Print and Press was born—a small business where I design custom hats and apparel with unique accessories like patches, charms, and chains.
Coming from a Cuban family of entrepreneurs, I’ve always seen the value of hard work, resourcefulness, and making opportunities instead of waiting for them. My parents’ journey has been a big inspiration for me—they’ve taught me what it means to be driven and passionate.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. I recently started my business, so I’m still learning and figuring things out as I go. Balancing that with school, cheer, and dual enrollment has been a challenge. There are days where it feels like there’s just not enough time, and keeping up with everything can be overwhelming.
Since I’m new to running a business, there’s been a lot of trial and error—figuring out what works, how to promote my products, and how to stay organized with orders. It’s pushed me out of my comfort zone, but it’s also helped me grow.
I’ve leaned on my parents a lot for support during this time. Whether it’s offering advice or just encouraging me when I feel stuck, they’ve helped me stay motivated and focused on my goals. Even though it’s been tough, I’ve learned so much already, and I’m excited to keep building from here.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
Magnolia Print and Press is a custom apparel business I started recently, and it’s all about giving people the chance to create personalized pieces that reflect their unique style. I specialize in custom hats and apparel, with a focus on adding unique touches like different vinyl, patches, charms, chains, and other accessories. My goal is to work closely with customers to bring their ideas to life, ensuring that every product is truly one-of-a-kind.
What sets Magnolia Print and Press apart is the personal touch I bring to every order. I’m dedicated to offering a customized experience from start to finish, making sure each design matches the customer’s vision perfectly. I take great pride in the quality and creativity of every product I make, and in how much fun I can make the process for my clients.
I’m especially proud of the fact that I created my own business at 16 while still in high school. It hasn’t been easy balancing school, cheer, and everything else, but it’s been incredibly rewarding to see how much my business has grown in such a short time.
I want readers to know that Magnolia Print and Press is all about creativity, self-expression, and making something personal. Whether it’s a custom hat for an event or a unique addition to your wardrobe, I’m here to turn your ideas into something special.
Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
What makes me happiest is seeing my hard work pay off, whether it’s in my business, school, or cheerleading. There’s something incredibly rewarding about putting in the effort, facing challenges, and then seeing the results. I’m also happiest when I’m able to help others or make something special for them, whether it’s a custom piece of apparel or supporting my cheer team.
I find joy in learning and growing, whether it’s through gaining new skills or discovering new things. It’s fulfilling to know that I’m pushing myself and making progress toward my goals. Ultimately, what makes me happiest is the sense of accomplishment and the knowledge that I’m building something meaningful for myself and others.
