Today we’d like to introduce you to Mila Wilson.
Hi Mila, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Here’s a version that feels heartfelt, personal, and still polished enough for a feature:
⸻
Photography has been a part of my story for as long as I can remember—but not in a typical way. My father was a photographer, and when I was very little, he was the one who first placed a camera in my hands. That moment stayed with me, even though he lived in a different country and wasn’t physically present for most of my life. For a long time, I felt that distance deeply.
As I grew older, photography became more than just something I enjoyed—it became a quiet way of feeling connected to him. Every time I picked up a camera, it felt like continuing a conversation we never really got to have. What started as something emotional and personal slowly turned into a passion, and then into a career.
Today, I’m a wedding photographer, capturing some of the most meaningful, joy-filled moments in people’s lives. I think my journey shaped the way I see things—I don’t just photograph what’s happening, I look for connection, for emotion, for the in-between moments that really matter. In many ways, photography gave me both a path and a sense of closeness I had been missing for years—and that’s something I now get to pass on to every couple I work with.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Here’s a strong, honest answer that still feels professional and reflective:
⸻
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. There were a lot of ups and downs, and many moments filled with doubt and uncertainty. I’ve spent countless hours practicing, learning, and trying to figure things out on my own. Looking back, I can see there were probably easier or faster ways to grow—but at the time, I was just doing everything I could to keep moving forward.
There were moments when I questioned myself, my work, and whether I was on the right path at all. But I’ve invested so much into this—time, energy, emotion—that it pushed me to keep going even when it felt hard.
In a way, those struggles shaped me the most. They made me more resilient, more intentional, and more connected to what I do. And now, I bring that depth and understanding into every wedding and every story I capture.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Here’s a polished but still very you answer—emotional, human, and strong:
⸻
I’m a wedding photographer, and I specialize in capturing connection—real, unfiltered, emotional moments. My work isn’t just about how things look, but how they feel. I focus a lot on the in-between moments—the quiet glances, the laughter, the energy of the day—because those are the memories that truly last.
I would describe my style as a bit of a chameleon. I can adapt to the environment, the couple, and the mood of the day while still keeping a consistent emotional depth in my work. Whether it’s an elegant, editorial setting or something more intimate and natural, I aim to tell the story in a way that feels honest and personal to each couple.
What I’m most proud of is the experience I create. I make people feel comfortable, seen, and genuinely themselves in front of my camera. A lot of my couples tell me they’re not used to being photographed, but by the end, they’re relaxed, having fun, and fully present—and that’s when the magic happens.
What sets me apart is that I don’t just show up to take photos—I care deeply. I’m fully invested in my couples and their stories. I bring emotion, intuition, and a sense of calm into what can sometimes be a very overwhelming day. For me, it’s not just about delivering beautiful images—it’s about giving people something they can feel every time they look back at their photos.
We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
Here’s a thoughtful, natural way to finish that idea:
⸻
Success, to me, is really about client satisfaction and being able to keep doing what I love. If my couples feel happy, seen, and emotional when they look at their photos—then I know I’ve done my job well.
It’s also about building something sustainable, where I can continue growing, creating, and supporting my life through my work. For me, success isn’t just numbers or recognition—it’s knowing that I’m making an impact, that my work matters to people, and that I get to keep telling these stories in a meaningful way.
