Daily Inspiration: Meet Matthew Selepack

Today we’d like to introduce you to Matthew Selepack.

Hi Matthew, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Charleston Performance Solutions started out as an idea on a napkin at lunch between friends. Friends who met through a local car forum a decade earlier, worked in a non-automotive space together, then opened the shop together. A few years later one friend, Robert, turned full control of CPS over to Matt as Robert wanted to focus soley on his transmission business. Ironically, CPS and Griffin transmission were directly across from one another until 2023 when out building sold and we had to move to Goose Creek. It is rumored that CPS and Griffin will be close together once again in the future.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has been a constant learning curve between people, technology, and the economy. However, our fanbase is loyal and we continue to try and grow. From social media judgement, bad employees, good employees, location struggles, etc. It has been challenging but rewarding.
