Daily Inspiration: Meet Mary Shirah

Today we’d like to introduce you to Mary Shirah.

Hi Mary, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
We started our business in the summer of 2009 in the downtown area of Summerville, SC.
Being young entrepreneurs we had bumps in the road (no pun intended). We grew our client base over the years and are still going strong 17 years later.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
There has been competition through out the years. We have seen some come and go. By keeping our quality, availability and customer service as our top priority is the reason for our longevity. COVID was definitely a challenge but we were able to keep our doors open thanks to word of mouth by our wonderful customers.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
My love for photography guided me to attend the Savannah College of Art and Design where I received my BA in that field. I soon met my husband and returned to his hometown of Summerville. Not long after we were pregnant. Shortly after our second child was born a business idea was brought to our attention.
An ultrasound studio! It was a wonderful idea and a way to incorporate my two favorite things, babies and pictures.

So, before we go, how can our readers or others connect or collaborate with you? How can they support you?
We are a small business and limited on the audience we cater to. Word of mouth and search engines along with social media and OBGYN offices have been our main source of advertising.
