Daily Inspiration: Meet Lord Lhus

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lord Lhus.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Started out freestyling in middle school honing my craft, and got serious sometime around 1999. I got my first break with my group “BloodLine” in 2005 we would sell out shows in and around Columbia, South Carolina. Then my major break in 2009 with “SnowGoons”. I signed to them through their parent label at the time BabyGrande Records. for 3 high selling albums. Since my departure from BabyGrande & SnowGoons I have released many albums (both hip-hop & country rap) under “Lord Lhus Music” as I’m an independent artist, who may or may not sign again really depends on circumstances. Right now my album “American Folk Rap” is out now on all platforms and hardcopies available on my website. It features songs with Down South Legend Bubba SparxxX, Dusty Dial of Killumbia Inc. Records, Syni Stixxx, Curtis Ryan & many more. We Have merch for sale on my website for the album and looking out for my new record executively produced by: King Killumbia under Killumbia Inc. Records coming sometime 2025/2026, stay tuned.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Being an underground Emcee came with many challenges especially in a world who loves commercial acceptable music. I literally had to grind my way to the top. I joined various groups and labels along the way. but ultimately
I returned home to the States and really just wanna make music thats real to my day to day life, my background and heritage. My state and upbringing. I’m still Lord Lhus but rebranded in the Country Rap Scene but with the lyrical style incorpated into my music
seperating me from the other acts in this genre. at the end of the day its all Hip-Hop and its all love for the culture.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am a hip-hop rapper from Madison County, North Carolina, representing Appalachia. Prior to this I was an underground Emcee who toured throughout Canada & Europe. I was one of the first from South Carolina to really generate an international buzz in the underground gritty grimey lyrical scene similar to that of Wu-Tang Clan and various other underground and horrorcore artists.

So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
Life, My family & friends, obviously my music and of course the fans I couldn’t do this without yall.
