In the fall of 2019, our family embarked on an exciting new adventure. After spending most of our lives in the Myrtle Beach area, we packed up, left the coast behind, and embraced the tranquility of country living with our four children. With over a decade of experience in long-term property management, we were no strangers to real estate and rentals. But this time, we had a new vision—to create a destination where guests could escape, unwind, and celebrate life’s most cherished moments.
The first time we turned off Copperhead Road and drove down the long, tree-lined driveway, it felt like stepping into a storybook. Towering Bradford pear trees welcomed us, their branches arching overhead as if guiding us home. From that moment, we knew this place was something special.
From the very beginning, Laurel Oaks Estate has been a true family endeavor. Our children, relatives, and closest friends have been involved in every step—clearing the land, designing forest trails, and even helping construct our very first glamping tent. Every inch of this property holds the love, dedication, and creativity of those who mean the most to us.
More than just a business, Laurel Oaks Estate is a labor of love. Our dream is to share its beauty with those seeking a place to celebrate, recharge, and reconnect with nature. I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Every dream worth chasing, comes with challenges. Growing our business has taken both passion and perseverance. At times it has been exciting, fulfilling, and rewarding, but it has also been challenging, exhausting, and sometimes downright discouraging. What keeps us pushing through is the belief in what we are building and creating for others to experience. The long days, the setbacks, and the sacrifices are all part of the journey. Success doesn’t happen overnight, it’s built through persistence, resilience, and the willingness to keep going even when it feels impossible.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Beyond hosting events, we offer on-site accommodations that allow guests to extend their experience and fully immerse themselves in the serene surroundings of Laurel Oaks Estate. Our distinctive on-site accommodations are one of the main things that sets us apart from other venues in the area. By offering two luxurious glamping tents, a charming horse trailer tiny home, a cozy voice activated modern cabin, and two versatile RV sites, we provide a unique and unforgettable experience for our guests. This variety ensures that everyone can find a lodging option that suits their preferences, making the stay comfortable and enjoyable for all. Additionally, having these accommodations on-site helps the wedding party and guests by minimizing travel time and allowing everyone to stay close to the festivities, creating a more intimate and cohesive celebration.
