Daily Inspiration: Meet Kori Campfield

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kori Campfield.

Hi Kori , can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
At one point, I was just a girl with potential — full of passion, but in need of direction. I poured a lot of personal emotion into hair, not fully knowing where it would take me, but always holding on to a vision of where I hoped it could go.

I’ve always had a deep love for the beauty industry. Whether it’s hair, fashion, or cosmetics — anywhere a woman can show up and express herself in a way that her aura speaks before she does — count me in.

Back in 2015, I was a student at Claflin University, an HBCU in Orangeburg, South Carolina. I majored in Mass Communications with a minor in Digital Media Marketing and a concentration in Television Broadcasting. Believe it or not, my dream at the time was to become a radio personality or a news anchor. Hair was something I did on the side — a creative outlet that just so happened to bring in quick money when I needed it most.

During moments of isolation and survival — with no real support outside of my grand aunt and my child’s father — doing hair gave me a lifeline. It taught me hustle. It taught me that consistency and intention could transform into revenue, relationships, discipline, and business structure.

I come from a small town with limited resources and a lot of heart. Where I’m from, we’re raised to be brave, even when the odds are stacked against us. We pray hard — and we also prey on opportunity when it comes knocking.

The journey hasn’t been easy. It’s taken years of consistency, trial and error, hard lessons, wins, losses, and most of all, grace. By God’s guidance, I’ve grown — as a woman, a mother, a business owner, and a service provider. Without Him, I wouldn’t have the perspective I carry today. And though I’m still learning, still evolving, and still holding on some days — I’m here, and I’m thriving.

What started with playing around with hair in my adolescence, mimicking the girls I admired on TV, has turned into a full-blown career. More than 10 years of experience in customer service, weave installations, business coaching, and brand marketing has led me to what I now call my Business 2.0 era.

Today, I run my own brand and offer a luxury hairline featuring quality raw hair sourced from overseas. I’ve had the pleasure of serving women across the Carolinas with premium sew-in services and a luxury experience rooted in care, confidence, and connection.

I’m proud of where I’ve come from — and even more excited about where I’m going.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It hasn’t been a smooth road — and I’d be lying if I said it was. But honestly, what road is? Every challenge builds character, shapes your perspective, and installs wisdom you didn’t even know you needed.

There’s been a lot of self-doubt along the way. This journey will test your confidence, your discipline, and your resilience. You have to learn how to encourage yourself, how to show up as your best self, and — most importantly — how to put in the work even when no one’s clapping for you.

I’ll admit, I’m really hard on myself — and that’s still something I work on daily. It’s why I make it a point to consistently pour into the things that bring me joy. When you’re genuinely happy and grounded in purpose, the struggles and challenges start to feel a little lighter. You begin to face them with more grace, more clarity, and more strength.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
One of the things I’m most proud of is my recent revamp and certification in advanced techniques, which has allowed me to offer upgraded installs like never before. These services reflect not only my growth as a stylist, but my commitment to staying educated, elevated, and ahead of the curve in this industry.

What truly sets me apart isn’t just my technique — it’s my mindset. I’m constantly pushing myself to grow — not only as a stylist, but as a woman. I’ve learned that when you do the inner work, everything you touch improves over time. The quality of your services, your business relationships, and even the way you show up in the world — it all shines brighter when the source (you) is aligned.

A lot of hairstylists are talented — but not all are grounded in themselves. For me, it’s bigger than hair. It’s about energy. It’s about showing up with intention, purpose, and integrity. When you carry a certain aura, you don’t always have to be the loudest in the room or even the most technically “perfect.” Your energy speaks first — and it attracts the right people who recognize, feel, and trust your gift.

What would you say have been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
If there’s one lesson this journey has taught me, it’s this: don’t quit on yourself. Rest when you need to, pause if you must — but don’t give up. There will always be someone out there who wants it just as bad, if not more. The difference is, you’ve got your own race to run. Stay committed, stay grounded, and keep showing up for yourself — even on the hard days. That’s where the real growth happens.
