Daily Inspiration: Meet Jennifer Mair

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jennifer Mair

Hi Jennifer, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
For years I struggled with body image issues. I believed the lies that have been spoken to me by others and our culture, “you are too much” or “you are not enough.” This kicked in an eating disorder and addiction to working out. For years, I felt like I could never measure up to what the world defined as beautiful.

One day, while running on a treadmill, I felt hopeless and thought, “there has to be more to life than this.” I knew I wasn’t alone because others around me either felt hopeless or wanted control of their health and wellness. Shortly after this moment, God led me to become a certified group fitness instructor but use it as a tool for the Gospel. My passion is to let others know they have been set free from the lies and bondage of our fitness culture.

In 2016, Whole Fitness was founded and we are dedicated to building a healthy and whole community: mind, body, and soul.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
We are a faith-based nonprofit fitness ministry and we rely on donors and partners to help us use fitness a mission for the Gospel. It is a lot of trust in God’s provision to do what He’s calling us to do.

It can be difficult to explain what a group fitness class is like and we encourage others to come and they will “get it.”

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
We are a faith-based fitness ministry that provides group fitness classes both online and in person throughout the Upstate. We currently have branches in Greer, Fountain Inn and Liberty, S.C. We are looking for a location in the downtown Greenville area. We are hopefully this will happen soon!

All of our classes are designed for all fitness levels. In each class you will get healthy and whole: mind, body and soul. Our classes are unique from other fitness classes by beginning and ending each class from God’s Word.

Whole Fitness is a safe and encouraging place to connect with others. Our community doesn’t compare but cheers one another on.

What was your favorite childhood memory?
I love going on vacation with my family. It didn’t matter where we went, just as long as we were together.
