Today we’d like to introduce you to Elizabeth Piner.
Hi Elizabeth, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I owned a restaurant in the past then worked for an alcohol distributor for 18 years. During Covid, I was working more than ever and creating business plans for other people that had the same dream as me. I decided to take the leap to do it myself and open a wine shop and restaurant but be able to sell wine & beer to go in case Covid continued or came back.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Smooth road is not in the vocabulary of someone who owns a restaurant. It’s constantly changing, and the customer shifts have given us request to expand. We were able to pivot and go from only open five days a week with a limited menu to now being open 6 days a week With a full menu! We had to add tables and increase our kitchen capacity.

I am a female entrepreneur with a small family business in Anderson, South Carolina. I am a second level sommelier and we specialize in eclectic wines, Craft Beers unique flatbreads and small plates. I have created all of our menu items. Many items are homemade and our charcuterie boards have meats and cheeses from around the world. I am most proud of our selection of Wine available to purchase and drink in house for retail price with a small cork fee. You can enjoy a very nice bottle of wine for almost half the price of a fine dining restaurant in a relaxed atmosphere with a diverse menu.
Who else deserves credit in your story?
My husband is my biggest cheerleader because without his consent, I wouldn’t have been able to take this leap of faith and open my own business again. Then my customers are my greatest strength since they support me and continue to come back and patronize my establishment and encourage me that I did the right thing and tell me i filled a void that Anderson did not have.
