Daily Inspiration: Meet Destynee Myhand

Today we’d like to introduce you to Destynee Myhand

Destynee, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
In the year of 2021 was when I posted my first Tiktok video on the social media platform with only 50 followers, I was a country girl who lived in the city and had a dream of just singing, doing makeup and having multiple streams of income. I met my best friend Austin Hines in that same year and even then I wasn’t interested in being committed to social media but he changed my way of seeing things and he took me under his wing and I began to grow and I had 500 followers, by the time I had my first link up with my best friend of 5 years, I went from 500 followers to 2k followers in 3 days. As the years rolled by it increased daily to the point where I started having a love for what I wanted to do with social media. I remember as if it was yesterday on December 17, 2023 is when I started getting getting hateful comments from my best friends comment of my weight and the speculations of being pregnant and it made my whole world crash in that moment, my best friend never knew about it until after I posted expressing my feelings for those hateful comments and him along with other supporters and friend messaged, called, and reassured me and tried to get me back on my feet but in the end I had to get up from the darkness that people thought they placed me in and rise above it all and continue to push through the trolls as we call it. On November 9, 2024 I hit 100k followers after working so hard and my friends celebrated with me along with my supporters in my great achievements of doing what I love and thats beauty, fashion, and lifestyle content. I have an amazing business clothing business that is rising into action and my saying after getting of live was : “Stay You, Stay True, and Stay Saucey”. I live and breathe my quotes everyday because when people see me they see nothing but realness because why fake the funk when even being an influencer we too struggle like someone who doesn’t have a title attached to their name. My aunt always instilled in me to do something I love and I would never have to work a day in my life and I choose to continue to make my dreams turn into a reality as I have started writing music, doing wig and makeup content and allowing the world to hear my voice and also having an upcoming podcast called “DND After Hours”.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
There was many struggles of depression, lack of confidence, hatred on the internet because of my weight, how I look, dressed and even people misgendering me thinking I was born a male. It ha me in a headspace of telling my best friend to stop posting me on his platforms because of the hatred I received over periods of time, but I had to hide behind a mask and wear a smile until I got to the place of taking it off and truly using the smile God had given me from the beginning.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am most known for transition makeup and clothing videos, a lot of my supporters would ask how I achieved my makeup looks an where I get my clothing from and of course I give them the necessary details to each product and I even would go live and show them step by step of how to do different makeup looks.

We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
I define success as achieving a goal no matter what. Success is putting blood, sweat and tears into a dream in private and molding and shaping an art work to place before others in public for all to see what you have worked hard for. Success is a process it doesn’t come easy but it will be easy if you make it.
