Today we’d like to introduce you to Charmaine Miller
Hi Charmaine, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I have been modeling and into fashion and styling since I was a kid. I started my career in pageants then eventually came into print and runway. Getting into being a creative came with wanting to show a more in depth look at personally my thought process behind a look or photoshoot. For me, I don’t normally express myself vocally at times, so I look to doing this with my creative and looks. I feel people understand me more this way.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It is not always easy to convey a message or really show something the exact way you would like it to. Also, mental blocks can come into play as well. When life has its issues sometimes it’s not as easy to come up with things. Even in this day and age when you feel as though life will continue without you even when you have to take a pause. But I learned that whether the world keeps moving regardless your personal, mental and creative health is most important because you could lose it forever trying to keep up with everyone else.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
My name is Charmaine Marie. I am most known for modeling, and fashion content creation. My biggest accomplishment is making it to NYFW in 2023 and really showing how my own dream could really come true. I think what really sets me apart from others is that a plus size model that uses any influence in my work. Meaning that my style is different for someone that looks like me. I love streetwear, classic wear, vintage, and formal wear. I am not really afraid of how people will receive me or my style. It is what I feel is best to convey me and what I feel most comfortable in.
We love surprises, fun facts and unexpected stories. Is there something you can share that might surprise us?
I think something that people won’t know about me is that I actually ran my own online boutique business. So I learned a lot about the ins and outs of the fashion industry and branding and marketing etc. It really allowed me to see what a lot of consumers are actually looking for from a business. What they want to see in ads, fit, easiest ways to buy etc.
