Daily Inspiration: Meet April Williams

Today we’d like to introduce you to April Williams.

Hi April, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Teachers Haven is a nonprofit that support teachers in their classrooms. I’m a parent that have children in the Aiken county schools. When volunteering at the school I seen how teachers use their own money to provide help for their students. I wanted to make a difference by equipment educators with supplies that they need so our children will have the best school year as possible.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No, finding funding. Just getting support from the community is hard. I couldn’t believe how many people overlooked the need that is in our school, specially low-income schools.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
We provide supplies to educators so that their pupils will have a successful school year. We specialize in giving back to the community. We are most proud when a teacher tells us thank you for thinking about us. Showing them that they do have an advocate who see their needs. What set us apart from other’s is that it is all about helping our children to be successful.

Alright so before we go can you talk to us a bit about how people can work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
They can reach us at our website www.teachershaven.org. They can make monetary donations or donate supplies.
