Today we’d like to introduce you to April DeTreville
Hi April, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I started this business when I decided it was time to leave the my nursing job due to the mandates placed on the Covid Vaccine. I personally was not comfortable receiving the vaccination and had to make a choice in staying in the field that I loved at the expense of my beliefs. I started doing some research in to the need for a studio like this in the Anderson area and prayed for God’s guidance in which direction I should go.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
I do not think being a business owner is ever easy but for me I went in blindly just trusting that since God brought me to it he would get me through it. The biggest struggle I had at first was finding a place that suited what I wanted out of my business. Then came the challenges of getting everything together to open the business., especially since I didn’t have a background in business. I was blessed with a couple of good friends who had opened business of their own that took me under their wings and guided me in the direction I needed to go and helped me check all the boxes of the requirements.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
At our studio we do ultrasounds for the parents to be able to see their baby to be at every stage of the baby’s growth/development in the womb. Those that know me on a personal note know me for being all about my family. I think that the clients that come in are able to see that I enjoy my job and treat everyone the same. They also know that if they need prayer I will be glad to pray for them. I guess what sets me apart part is our clients that come numerous times become like family and if they are worried or just need reassurance they know they can pick up the phone and call and we will work them in or if I am able I will meet them even when we aren’t open to give them reassurance that they baby is doing alright and still has a strong heartbeat.
Do you have recommendations for books, apps, blogs, etc?
I mainly read Christian self help books so that I can always work to improve on myself. If I need to recharge I will either head to the beach or go hiking or as we call it chasing waterfalls. Both of those activities recharge my spirit.
