Today we’d like to introduce you to Nathaniel Perkins.
Hi Nathaniel, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Started off djaying at the age of 16 doing notable events for high schools and college around the Columbia area. Then elevated to nightlife events and then towards radio in 2015 starting off at IHeartRadio. Transitioning from IHeartRadio to Radio One in 2020. In between that time I’ve done concerts and festivals with the biggest names in the hip hop industry. 2024, i was then discovered and asked to be the official DJ of the Carolina Panthers football team.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
No road is ever smooth. There were a lot of closed doors on the way before walking through the ones that were opened for me. The closed doors made more humble, understanding, and determined to make my next move the best one.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I specialize in DJaying, graphic design, and video editing. Everyone is tapping into the dj space but what makes me stand out is my marketing and branding for the events that i do participate in. Talent can take you far, but business and marketing yourself can take you even farther.
What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
The ability of being seen in positive light. I always strive to market myself in a positive light because you never know who is watching. I never indulge in any negativity on social media or in the public setting.
