Today we’d like to introduce you to Nathalie Martin-Clark.
Hi Nathalie, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My journey into the travel industry began over 36 years ago when I took a part-time job as a ramp agent with Eastern Airlines to help put myself through college. What started as a practical decision quickly turned into a lifelong passion, leading me to earn my degree in Travel and Tourism Management from Bay State College in Boston.
After graduating, I worked as a Corporate Travel Agent before transitioning into roles at the airport as a ticket counter and gate agent while raising my family. Life took some unexpected turns, including a divorce, which led me to a new chapter as a flight attendant. That role allowed me to combine my love of travel with caring for people—something that has always been at the heart of what I do.
After a difficult period in my career last January when I lost my friends on Flight 5342, I made the decision to step away from flying and focus on my well-being. While I initially thought I was ready to retire, I quickly realized I wasn’t ready to stop doing what I love. A conversation with a former colleague encouraged me to take a leap of faith and return to my roots—this time by building something of my own.
That leap led to the creation of Platinum Elite Travel. Today, I’m able to combine decades of industry experience with a true passion for helping others travel with confidence and ease. Having worked behind the scenes in so many areas of the industry, I understand the details most travelers never see—and I use that knowledge to create seamless, personalized experiences for my clients.
Looking back, every step of my journey has shaped how I serve my clients today. I truly feel like I’m exactly where I’m meant to be—helping others explore the world while making the process simple, enjoyable, and stress-free.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road—and honestly, I think that’s what makes the journey meaningful.
Over the years, I’ve had to navigate a number of personal and professional challenges, from balancing work and raising a family to going through a divorce and rebuilding a new chapter of my life. One of the most difficult moments came when I stepped away from my role as a flight attendant after a challenging experience that made me realize I needed to prioritize my well-being.
There were times when I had to completely pivot and ask myself, “What’s next?”—and those moments can be uncomfortable and uncertain. Starting my own business was another leap that pushed me outside of my comfort zone. It required confidence, patience, and a willingness to bet on myself, even when things felt unclear.
But those experiences also shaped me in the best way. They taught me resilience, empathy, and how to stay calm and solution-focused when things don’t go as planned—skills that are incredibly valuable in both life and in the travel industry.
Today, I’m grateful for every twist and turn because they’ve allowed me to build a business that truly reflects who I am. I’m not just planning trips—I’m helping people navigate experiences, and sometimes even the unexpected, with someone in their corner who genuinely understands.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
At Platinum Elite Travel, I specialize in creating personalized, stress-free travel experiences tailored to each client’s unique needs and preferences. Whether it’s a luxury getaway, a family vacation, a romantic escape, or a bucket-list trip, I handle every detail from start to finish so my clients can simply enjoy the journey.
What I’m really known for is the level of care and attention I give to each trip. With over three decades of experience in the travel industry—including working behind the scenes at the airport, as a corporate travel agent, and as a flight attendant—I bring a depth of knowledge that allows me to anticipate challenges and navigate situations most travelers never even think about.
I’m especially proud of the relationships I build with my clients. Many of them come back to me again and again, and refer their friends and family, because they know I genuinely care about their experience. For me, it’s not just about booking a trip—it’s about creating something meaningful and making the entire process feel easy, supported, and even exciting.
What truly sets me apart is that I don’t just plan travel—I advocate for my clients. If something unexpected happens, they’re not left figuring it out alone. They have someone in their corner who knows the industry, understands how to problem-solve quickly, and is committed to making things right.
At the end of the day, I’m most proud of being able to turn what can often feel overwhelming into something seamless and enjoyable. That peace of mind is what my clients value most, and it’s what I strive to deliver every time.
Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
I’ve been incredibly fortunate to have a number of people and organizations support and encourage me throughout my journey.
Early in my career, I worked alongside colleagues in the airline and travel industry who helped shape my knowledge, work ethic, and understanding of how the industry truly operates behind the scenes. Those experiences built a strong foundation that I still rely on today.
More recently, one of the most impactful moments came from a conversation with a pilot I had worked with, Kris Scott. At a time when I was unsure of what my next step should be, he encouraged me to revisit my background as a travel agent and consider starting my own business. That simple conversation gave me the confidence to take a leap I might not have taken otherwise.
I’m also grateful to be an Independent Travel Advisor with InteleTravel, which has provided valuable tools, resources, and a supportive network as I’ve grown my business. Having that kind of backing has allowed me to focus on what I do best—serving my clients and creating exceptional travel experiences.
Of course, my clients themselves have played a huge role in my success. Their trust, loyalty, and referrals mean everything to me, and it’s incredibly rewarding to build lasting relationships with the people I serve.
And behind it all, my friends and family have been constant cheerleaders. Their encouragement and belief in me have made all the difference, especially during times of transition and growth.
It truly takes a village, and I’m so thankful for every person who has been part of my journey.
