Conversations with Kortnee Belue

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kortnee Belue.

Hi Kortnee, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
In 2020, right after having my last baby, my best friend and I found ourselves dreaming out loud about what was next. We were both navigating newborn life and talking about what kind of future we wanted for our families. I was managing an Airbnb at the time, and she looked at me and said, “What about real estate? You’ve always loved homes and have an eye for it.” That same day, within four hours, we were both signed up for real estate school.

From there, we were breastfeeding babies and quizzing each other in the middle of the night. We used to have what we called “business meetings” sitting in front of a Taco Bell, literally counting coins to see if we could each get a taco. Those early days are so precious to me… a little scrappy and a lot of blind hope.

Real estate has stretched me in ways I couldn’t have anticipated. It’s given me so much clarity about who I am, how I want to serve my community, and what peace really looks like for me and my family. I get to meet the most incredible people! My clients often feel like long-lost friends and I get to walk with them through some of their most exciting and emotional chapters.

Now, I’m so grateful to be in a season where I can give generously from the heart. Gift giving is absolutely my love language, and there is nothing I love more than surprising someone with a little “just because” moment. I still am obsessed over quirky homes, an arched doorway, and a story worth telling.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Absolutely not. I’ve had my fair share of silent crying in the shower! Real estate can be intense, and for someone like me who naturally values harmony and keeping the peace, it was a huge adjustment at first. I’m not confrontational by nature, but I had to learn to set strong boundaries around my time, my energy, and my mental space.

I also had to grow into my voice. I’m always learning how to communicate clearly, effectively, and with precision to get the best possible results for my clients. That’s what they hired me for, after all. This is a people-first business, and a big goal of mine is always to coach and empower my clients through the process so they feel like the hero of their own story.

There’s a lot of emotion behind the scenes. It is high stakes, tough decisions, and major life transitions. Walking people through those with clarity, empathy, and confidence is where the magic happens. The growth has been hard-earned, but I wouldn’t trade it for anything.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m a Realtor here in Greenville area. I would say I am also an advocate and a steady hand for people navigating one of the biggest transitions of their lives. I work with a lot of young families, first-time buyers, and people relocating to be closer to their people. I specialize in making the process feel more human and approachable. We have a lot of fun with it too!

I’m known for being calm and intuitive in high-stakes moments. I trust my gut, and I encourage my clients to trust theirs, too. It isn’t just that too. I have a dialed in strategy that I’ve spent many hours in front of mentors to curate. I’m proud to say I’ve built a referral-based business by word of mouth from people who felt deeply cared for throughout their experience. I’ve had the honor of helping clients buy and sell in some of the most joyful and most tender seasons of their lives: births, losses, divorces, job changes, new dreams. It’s a sacred kind of work, and I don’t take it lightly.

People all throughout my life have told me that “I see people.” I notice the little details that make someone them. I slow down. I listen. I make space for their real thoughts and real lives in a process that can otherwise feel transactional.

I’m most proud of is how I’ve been able to give generously along the way. I hand-write cards, surprise people with local flowers or coffee, and celebrate them through different chapters of life!

We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
Honestly, I don’t have the strongest memory! I joke that I’m so grateful to have my husband, because we’ve been together since I was 15, and he remembers so many little moments for me. But when I think about childhood, what comes to mind isn’t one big event but rather it’s a feeling.

I remember laying on the floor of my bedroom in the patch of sunlight that streamed through the window. It was quiet, warm, and peaceful… totally my space. I’d watch dust particles float in the light, listen to the hum of lawnmowers outside, and just let my mind wander. Sometimes I’d play with my dolls, sometimes I’d color with glitter crayons, and sometimes I’d just lay there thinking about the day or staring at the spot on the ceiling wondering how it got there.

Those slow, gentle moments of solitude are what stand out most. I had great neighborhood friends and loved being with people, but I’ve always needed those little recharge moments, and I still do. I think that soft stillness shaped how I process the world and definitely how I show up for others now.
