Hi Kendra, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Hi! My name is Kendra Wheeler, and I am the owner of Journey Soap Bar. My journey began out of necessity, driven by severe allergies that nearly cost me my life. In that critical moment, I made a promise to God: if I emerged from this struggle, I would take control of my health.
I dedicated myself to studying various subjects, including skin health and nutrition, to gain a deeper understanding of how to care for myself. This passion led me to realize that both what we consume and what we apply to our skin are vital for our overall well-being. Recognizing that our skin requires nourishment just like our bodies, I began formulating products that I now consider “skin food.”
I have been fortunate to create a range of products, including Goat Milk Soap, Whipped Body Butter, Moisturizing Rubs, Sugar Scrubs, and Body Lotion. These products have greatly benefited my family and me, and I felt compelled to share them with the world. What initially appeared to be a significant challenge has transformed into a remarkable blessing for me and many others.
At Journey Soap Bar, we are grateful for the opportunity to serve our community and customers globally. Our name reflects the transformative journey we have undertaken, and we are excited to include the stories of our cherished customers along the way.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
While the journey has not been easy, it has undoubtedly been worthwhile. I have discovered much about myself during this process. As a business owner, the responsibility rests entirely on my shoulders; I must manage everything from business expenses and taxes to payroll. For those of us who rely on personal funds rather than credit, the challenges can be even greater.
However, I firmly believe that perseverance brings rewards. The benefits of not giving up on this journey are becoming increasingly evident. My advice to fellow entrepreneurs is to protect your passion while making thoughtful and informed decisions for your business. It is crucial to separate business and personal finances; otherwise, you may find yourself caught in an unending cycle of challenges.

I encourage everyone to stay informed and embrace a mindset of lifelong learning. Be selective about the individuals you allow into your circle, seek out a mentor, and be cautious in your decisions… not mixing personal emotions with business, look at the bigger picture when doing business, not avoiding issues but also not trying to fight every battle.
