Conversations with Iryna Babych

Today we’d like to introduce you to Iryna Babych.

Hi Iryna, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My creative journey began in 2022, when I became involved in social and community projects organized by the All-Ukrainian Trade Union of the National Police of Ukraine. I wasn’t just participating — I was helping to lead and organize initiatives that supported people during some of the most challenging moments of their lives. It was during this time that I discovered the true power of visual storytelling. I realized that photography could preserve truth, emotion, and humanity in a way that words simply cannot.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The road hasn’t been easy, but it has been incredibly exciting and inspiring. I discovered so much along the way and learned constantly — days, nights, whenever I had the chance — because I truly wanted to grow. Every challenge became an opportunity to develop my skills and move forward in my creative journey.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am a professional photographer specializing in fashion, portrait, and branding imagery, with a strong focus on emotional storytelling and visual identity. My work is known for its depth, mood, and ability to capture a person’s essence in a way that feels both cinematic and authentic.

What sets me apart is my approach: I treat each project as a story rather than just a photoshoot. I combine intuitive composition, natural emotion, and a refined sense of aesthetics to create images that feel alive. I’m deeply involved in every stage of the creative process — from concept and styling to lighting and final color.

I am most proud of the fact that my work helps people and brands see themselves in a new way. Clients often tell me that I capture not just their appearance, but their energy and personality. For me, photography is about creating meaningful, honest visuals that stay with people long after they’ve seen them.

Is there anything else you’d like to share with our readers?
