Conversations with Dria Ashley

Today we’d like to introduce you to Dria Ashley.

Hi Dria, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I developed a passion for the Beauty Industry as a young girl in grade school. From Kiss Press-On Nail Kits to Wet & Wild Beauty Kits; I loved it all. I began my professional career as a Beauty Service Provider in 2018. I started as an entry level nail & makeup artist working in a salon full time. I continued to learn & grow as an artist and in 2024 I decided it was time to leave my hometown & hometown salon to relocate to a bigger city. Relocating was one of the best career moves that I made so far & has come with so many new amazing opportunities.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
I can honestly say the road isn’t always smooth but the journey & ride is worth it. Some of the struggle along the way for me included not losing hope/faith, keeping my confidence high, and being patient with myself and the process of growing as an artist.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am a retired licensed Nail Tech & I am now currently a full time Pro Travel Makeup Artist. I specialize in “bringing glam dreams to reality”. Most people know me as a Beauty Industry Girly. Something that I am most proud of is my willingness to keep going even when things get hard. I thing the biggest thing that sets me a part from others is my creative mind and ways that I interpret things or view the world.

Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
My advice to anyone starting out would be to take every opportunity you have to promote yourself and bring awareness yo your craft/creativity. Don’t settle for the first No & no matter what if you see the vision that means it’s possible for you.
