Conversations with Chasity and Nate Brown

Today we’d like to introduce you to Chasity And Nate Brown.

Hi Chasity and Nate , it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
We are Nate and Chasity Brown. We opened our very first brick and mortar in North Charleston on January 1, 2021.
We offer a variety of sweet treats with our Charleston Chewies being our top selling signature item. We pride ourselves in having consistently delicious treats and excellent customer service. We started in 2011 when we had our second and third daughers yes! twins! Hence the business name) and needed additional income so we turned our hobby into a business. We then had ANOTHER set of twins. This time ANOTHER girl and finally a little boy. Forcing us to grind even harder to provide for our large family.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
There are always going to be some challenges when starting and running a business. We have always treated them as learning experiences. We get over that hurdle and keep it moving. We have had things like equipment going out on us during a large order, making hundreds on inventory for an event only for it to be canceled, and some days wondering how we have gotten as far as we have. But as we look back on the hard work and consistency we see what has brought us were we are today and continue to strive to be.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
We are known for our Charleston Chewies. We are most proud of the many items we have created that have been derived from the Charleston Chewie and that is what sets us apart from others. We have many items that others simply so not have,

What was your favorite childhood memory?
One of my ( Chasity ) favorite childhood memories would have to being going over to my great aunts house on some weekends. When my sisters and I went we always helped her in her garden and baked strawberry cake. Strawberry cake is still my favorite cake today.
