Conversations with ATRIXALAN

Today we’d like to introduce you to ATRIXALAN.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Well my love for music started pretty early since my mom was also a musician, i was around music my whole life. It started as a hobby really. I started making beats in my head around 2nd grade and from then on i knew i wanted to be a producer. I even used to beatbox at the lunch table and on the bus for my friends who wanted to rap. Skip a good couple of years to 11 years old when i started piano lessons which is also when i got my first laptop and started making beats. It wasn’t until i was about 13 yrs old when i started making beats on my iPhone on GarageBand, but little did i know that was the daw id never leave. Most my life up until 2018 id only ever saw my talent as a hobby and something i could do on the side to help my friends that rap. We used to play my beats in the car and freestyle for hours they would always tell me i should rap on one fr and one day i actually listened and tried it. I dropped my first song ever produced written and performed by me and i would continue to do this just for fun and drop songs on SoundCloud up till 2024. In 2024 i met my now dj “Dj Wander Girl” and she put me on her set list to perform at a Juneteenth festival, i told her not to, she did anyway. She told me to get over my fears and after that day i officially started my career as an artist…and i love it till this day.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The road was smooth for awhile bc i didn’t care enough, but onced i locked in thats when the road blocks came, people started switching up or giving up, jealousy, hate, and envy from others did nothing but fuel me. Im thankful for the struggles and road blocks, i learned how to get through or even go around.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
Well apart from the music I still gotta pay my bills and work that unskipable 9-5 lol except i work in healthcare specifically EMS so i work usually 12-18 hours 3-4 days out the week. And since i make all my beats on my ipad i can bring it and work on some beats at work when there are no calls. The days that im off i focus on recording and or shooting content. What sets me apart from others i think is my work ethic and my will to get things done no matter where or if i have time or not, + producing, recording, mixing & mastering
My own tracks, but im starting to see more of that lately from other artists as well its nice to see tbh

Who else deserves credit in your story?
First and foremost my Mom, PDOLO, my DJ “Dj Wander Girl”, SVIINTH (hip-hop collective), MOEB!,Eezy Olah, KWASI, AIRBORNE AUDIO, Cherquoyia, YUMZ AWKWORD, Gregg sword, Zorion, oliverishiding, Lensy Love, Tam The Vibe, black nerd mafia, Jade adu, ZAR, Sonny, Addie, Connor, Writ3rs Block, ricky aka “RJC”, Juventad, The Khidd, Omari, JUBY DAGOD. Kanye West.

I did not become the artist i am today alone, yes i can do a lot on my own but its people like this *above* who have helped me along the way and for that i am grateful. They’ve all helped in different ways big or small but the biggest way each and everyone helped me was by giving me the confidence to be myself.
