Today we’d like to introduce you to Ashley Robinson.
Hi Ashley, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
We’re so excited to share a little bit about our taxi journey with you.
Life had a way of shifting, and we knew it was time for us to shift with it. With one car, a big vision, and a lot of determination, our taxi company was born. My brother and I have always been a team—we support each other’s ideas and take on every project side by side. At the heart of everything we do is a simple belief: family and community come first.
Now, we won’t pretend the taxi business is glamorous. Running vehicles 24/7 comes with its fair share of challenges—miles add up quickly, and so do the repairs. Tires, blowouts, belts, AC… the list can teel endless some days.
But through it all, we’ve been incredibly fortunate.
We’ve had some amazing drivers along the way
-people who genuinely enjoy meeting new faces, sharing stories, and showing off the charm of the beautiful place we call Beaufort, South Carolina. Like any business, we’ve experienced our ups and downs. But we believe in putting in the work, staying grounded, and pushing forward.You grind, you grow, and you get through it together.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I think like any business the road is bumpy. You question if you’re going to make it, sometimes more than others. Like Uber, Lyft, when they refresh on the scene, of course they impacted us. Of course we questioned. How is this going to look for us longevity? Will we make it? You bunker down, ride the wave and hope to be standing in the end
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
We love the taxi business but our true passion is historic homes and history. Saving those last houses that hav have not fully collapsed and still have a story to share. My parents were both in construction and creating. I like to think they pass that down to all of us kids. All my siblings are very talented. My brother really shines when it comes to Restoration projects. He can truly take you into his space that the walls are falling down, he can make it come to life as he describes all of the ideas and the Restoration that it will take to get there. It’s quite amazing. It’s funny. One of my most vivid memories for my childhood is my mom‘s Carpenter. His name was Bill Monk. He was a big Burley man but was very kind. I’m pretty sure he babysat us a few times while my mom ran to the hardware store. lol. He was at her home most of my childhood. My mother was always creating or curating a space. We really enjoy spending our time in Santee, South Carolina. The community and the peace of the lake is what really drew us to that area. We just recently had a community gathering at a restoration project we have there. The neighborhood came out, old and new faces. We spoke about the history of Santee and the growth that is happening. It was really a good time had by all.We feel blessed to be able to have those moments. It is really a beautiful place. If you ever get the chance you should explore.
Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
We hope to still be here in the next 5-10 years. Where it will be I have no idea, but we are down for the ride.
