Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I began my career with a degree in Industrial Electronic Technologies from Spartanburg Community College and jumped into the fast-paced world of PLC programming, machine installation, robot programming, and maintenance. Over a decade, I worked my way up from maintenance technician to Control Engineer, then into maintenance management, and eventually engineering management. I’ve always enjoyed troubleshooting, designing, and building solutions using the electrical and mechanical skills I’ve honed over the years. Eventually, I grew tired of endless meetings and industrial politics and decided it was time for a change—something I could create, control, and run my own way. That’s when I founded Creed Electrical Contractors. After passing the NASCLA electrical exam and getting my license, I started building my business through the contacts and friendships I’d made. It wasn’t easy—I had to learn every part of running a company, from setting up an LLC to marketing, advertising, taxes, and estimating. Through constant research, I expanded my knowledge from the worker’s perspective to the owner’s. Once I became profitable, I reinvested in growth, hiring employees one by one to reach the team we have today. Now, we provide electrical contracting services in Industrial, Commercial, and Residential sectors, seeing steady growth in each. We embrace challenges and work to find tailored solutions for our clients while continually learning, adapting, and using the latest tools—including AI—to improve safety, efficiency, and training.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Sales has always been the toughest part and still is. I had to learn how to become a salesperson and experiment with countless advertising and marketing strategies to secure consistent, recurring clients.

What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
I believe that as technology continues to advance at such a rapid pace, there will be a huge increase in the demand for electrical contractors. From data centers to electric vehicle charging stations and energy efficiency upgrades, the industry is evolving quickly. Of all the trades, I think electrical work is the most rapidly changing field.
