Hi Vinson, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Honestly, MB South Digital started with a simple dream — to help local small businesses, churches, and non-profits right here in the Grand Strand area grow online without having to spend a fortune. I’ve always had a love for marketing and creativity, and after studying marketing and advertising, I realized just how many amazing local businesses were struggling to get noticed online. That really stuck with me.

Being from Myrtle Beach myself — I graduated from Myrtle Beach High School back in 2003 — this community means a lot to me. I’ve seen it grow and change over the years, but one thing that’s always stayed the same is the hard work and heart that local business owners put into what they do. I wanted to create something that could support them, something real and affordable that actually makes a difference.

So I started MB South Digital from scratch — just me, my laptop, and a vision. I began reaching out to local businesses, building websites, running social media pages, and helping people get their message out there. It’s been a lot of learning, growing, and connecting along the way, but seeing a client’s business take off or a local church reach more people online — that’s the best feeling in the world.

Today, MB South Digital has grown into a full-service digital marketing company, but we still keep that same community-first mindset. It’s not just about websites or ads — it’s about helping people in our area succeed and showing them that with the right tools and a little creativity, they can stand out online.

It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road — but I think that’s what makes the journey meaningful. Starting a business from scratch is tough, especially in the digital marketing world where things change so fast. One of the biggest challenges in the beginning was just getting people to take a chance on something new. A lot of local business owners have been burned by marketing companies that overpromised and underdelivered, so earning trust was a big hurdle.

There were also times when I had to learn new systems and tools on the fly — everything from website platforms to ad management. It was a lot of long nights, trial and error, and figuring things out as I went. But every challenge pushed me to grow, and now those experiences help me guide others who might feel overwhelmed by the online side of running a business.

Another struggle early on was balancing everything — sales, marketing, client work, and just trying to get the word out about MB South Digital. But I’ve learned to take it step by step and stay focused on the “why” behind it all: helping local businesses and organizations succeed.

Looking back, those challenges were really blessings in disguise. They forced me to get creative, stay patient, and keep moving forward — and they’ve shaped MB South Digital into what it is today.

If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
Growing up, I was always the creative and curious type — the kid who loved coming up with new ideas, sketching logos, or figuring out how things worked. I’ve always had an interest in people and communication, which probably explains why marketing and helping others tell their stories came so naturally later on.

I was also pretty outgoing — I loved being involved, meeting new people, and finding ways to bring folks together. Whether it was helping with a school project or organizing something in the neighborhood, I enjoyed being part of a team and seeing ideas come to life.

At the same time, I’ve always had an entrepreneurial mindset. Even as a teenager, I liked thinking about how to turn ideas into something real — whether that meant designing something, promoting an event, or helping someone with a small side project. That creative drive stuck with me and eventually led to starting MB South Digital.

Overall, I’d say I was a mix of creative, social, and determined — someone who liked to dream big but also work hard to make those dreams happen.
