Community Highlights: Meet Tiffany Riva of Tiffany Riva Events

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tiffany Riva.

Tiffany, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My path to event planning has always been rooted in purpose and connection. I spent many years in nonprofit development and communications in Connecticut and Western Massachusetts, producing large-scale fundraisers and community events where thoughtful planning and strong relationships were essential. Through that work, I discovered a deep love for creating meaningful, well run experiences that allow people to be fully present in important moments.

I launched Tiffany Riva Events in Connecticut, planning weddings and nonprofit events with a focus on organization, intention, and ease. After relocating to South Carolina with my family, I’m excited to re-launch the business here—bringing calm leadership, thoughtful design, and a deep understanding of both mission-driven events and coastal celebrations to clients across the Carolina coast.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road but it has been a very intentional one. Starting a business is daunting, so I took a thoughtful, steady approach rather than jumping in all at once. I spent years building skills in nonprofit leadership and hospitality, learning how to manage budgets, timelines, vendors, and high-stakes events where there’s no room for chaos.

That experience gave me clarity – not just about what I’m good at, but about the kind of work and clients that energize me. Over time, it became clear that building my own business wasn’t the risky option – it was the most logical next step. I launched Tiffany Riva Events with confidence, knowing I had the systems, experience, and temperament to lead calmly, solve problems, and create experiences that feel seamless for my clients.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Tiffany Riva Events is a full-service event planning company specializing in coastal weddings and mission driven nonprofit events. I work with couples and organizations who value thoughtful details, clear communication, and a calm, steady presence throughout the planning process. My role is to bring structure, intention, and ease to what can otherwise feel overwhelming so clients can stay focused on the people and moments that matter most.

What sets my work apart is the blend of nonprofit leadership, hospitality experience, and real-world logistics. I’m known for being highly organized, solutions-oriented, and unflappable under pressure. Whether I’m managing a wedding weekend or a fundraising event, I approach each project with the same mindset: strong systems behind the scenes and a seamless, welcoming experience for guests.

Brand-wise, I’m most proud of the trust my clients place in me. Tiffany Riva Events isn’t about trends or excess, it’s about creating events that feel personal, grounded, and well-run. I want readers to know that my business is built on integrity, preparation, and heart, and that I bring the same level of care to every celebration, whether it’s a coastal wedding or a community-focused nonprofit event.

If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
I was definitely a bit Type A growing up – in the best way. I liked things “just so,” was naturally organized, and genuinely enjoyed being in charge. As the oldest sibling with two younger brothers, I learned early how to lead, problem-solve, and keep things moving, often in the middle of chaos.

I’ve always been drawn to organizing, hosting, and creating experiences that made people feel comfortable and cared for. Looking back, it’s not surprising that those instincts grew into a career where calm leadership, attention to detail, and thoughtful planning are at the heart of everything I do.
