Hi Tiffany, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I was born in Columbus, Ohio, with family roots stretching back to Florence, South Carolina. Growing up, our family’s love for travel deeply shaped me, instilling a passion for the hospitality industry from a young age. This passion carried me through my studies at Norfolk State University, where I pursued a degree in Hotel Management, with dreams of creating memorable experiences for others.
After graduating, I landed my first role at Walt Disney World Resort as a Guest Show Manager. Working at Disney was a transformative experience; I was surrounded by the best in the business and learned the art of bringing magic to life through guest experiences. My career took an unexpected turn when I found a niche in HR, specifically in college recruiting. I discovered the joy of finding talent and fostering growth, which became my new passion. Over the years, I took on leadership roles, guiding early talent recruiting functions for companies like ARAMARK, Abbott, Goodyear, and Royal Caribbean. I loved connecting people with opportunities, shaping careers, and building strong vibrant teams.
Then came the pandemic—a life-changing period that brought a wave of challenges. Like so many, I faced the uncertainty of being furloughed and eventually laid off. Although it was a difficult time, it sparked an idea that would lead me down a new path. I started a side hustle, curating and shipping tablescapes across the U.S. people were eager for beauty and connection even in isolation, and my business resonated with them. What started as a small effort to help make ends meet gained momentum as more people discovered my work.
Four years later, my side hustle evolved into a full-fledged business with the opening of SAGE Event Space. SAGE, which stands for “Stylish Area Great Environment,” is a space where people can gather, celebrate, and create memories in a uniquely curated atmosphere. From intimate gatherings to milestone celebrations, I’m grateful to bring people together in an environment that reflects my lifelong dedication to hospitality. SAGE is more than an event space; it’s a tribute to my journey, a space where my love for travel, hosting, and connecting with others comes full circle.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The journey wasn’t without its challenges. For years, I worked remotely, carefully balancing my career with my family’s needs. When I was asked to return to the office, it was a challenging transition, both professionally and personally. Then came a pivotal corporate request that would change everything: I was asked to relocate to Miami, Florida—a move that didn’t align with our family’s situation. Together, we made the difficult choice to walk away from my corporate role, setting my career on an entirely new path.

One of the brand aspects I am most proud of is the transformation from a simple tablescape side hustle to a fully realized event space, especially after the challenges of the pandemic. How do you define success?
Defining success, especially in a business like SAGE Event Space, goes beyond financial milestones or event numbers. For me, success is about creating experiences that leave a lasting impact on those we serve. It’s seeing clients and their guests connect, celebrate, and feel uplifted in an environment that brings their vision to life. When clients walk away feeling like their event was uniquely tailored to their story and style, that’s success.
Success also includes building a brand that reflects resilience and creativity. Overcoming the challenges that led to SAGE’s creation—like pivoting from a successful corporate career after the pandemic—has been part of this journey. So, success is also about staying true to my purpose and values, showing up for my clients, and continuously elevating our services. Ultimately, if we can continue to bring joy, make a difference, and inspire unforgettable memories, that’s what success looks like to me.
